Cars bunching up during autodrive?

Just had a race where during auto drive the 2nd place car was very slow. All cars bunched up behind it.. so pole sitter was clear by 4 or 5 seconds at green flag. And while i started 7th all other cars behind me had an extra head of steam and i got passed handily before turn 1..

Ive seen this bunch up in 2 of my 30 sport mode races... any idea what is going on?

yeah I've had a couple of races where I've noticed a big gap to the car in front as soon as I'm given control of the car... quite odd

Same here. Mostly on yamagiwa. 1-2 walk away BEFORE the green flag drops.

What is causing it is your gearbox ratios. A longer 1st gear to start the car from a standstill will cause the bunch up.

I was in last place at start in one.. GP.4 race and on the corner at green flag, cars bunched up and the autodrive put me at a dead stop after running into the front car all the while the rest of the cars went running away.. try to catch up after that. I can say, I did not finish that race in time

I've had it happen twice in the Blue Moon Mazda 6 race, where there's no tuning.

Got me on that one. The way I figured it out was by having my shifter set in 2nd gear and the cars in front of me during the race start pulled away during auto-drive.

Then the next race I put my shifter in 1st and shifted to 2nd during auto drive and the car was closer but still they pulled a gap during auto drive.

Finally I step up my 1st gear shorter and continuing doing what I was doing with the shifter starting in 1st gear, shifting to 2nd when the auto drive did. This basically took me to a perfect gap during the rolling start.

And it happened to me at Yama with the lambo and I have an extremely short gear set for that course.

It’s not tuning - happened in the N300 race about 30 mins ago (Audi TT fixed set) - the leader didn’t move, I was second and in auto drive I nearly passed the pole sitter. This led to a consatina through the pack.

I saw the same pole guy in a few races prior to this and it didn’t happen there so I don’t think it was deliberate glitching.

However, at the beginning of a race there is a brief moment where the driver can change gear or something so I wondered if it was possible to abuse that.

Anyway, assuming it’s not glitching my next guess is network ...

Yeah, it happened 3 times in the Blue Moon race last week for me. Thought it must be network.

Me too, I think the game started me in a higher gear and others in a lower gear. I wasn't prepared for a quick downshift to start the race and they left me standing still. Blue moon bay.

Same issue I’ve noticed is the different gaps at the start, one race last night I was 6th at the start and then when it went green to race I had easy 2 to 3 seconds time ahead of 7th, but was bunched up tight with the top 6. Had the reverse happen where I’m 2 to 3 seconds behind at the start.... I’m using AT so now just hold hate accelerator trigger down 100% prior to the start

Not sure but i think it could have something to do with the qualy time. Last night i was in the Nurburgring race. I started 5th, the guys in front were all top 10 players with qualy laps of 1.5 to 1 second faster then me. The guys behind me qualied a fair bit slower. Those 4 frontrunners were bunched together and i had a gap in front and behind.

Had another instance today.

Looked like 2nd place stopped which slowed the rest of the cars down while in auto drive coming to the start.. then while i eas stopped in 6th the green flag waves and 7-12th places pass or run into the back of me..

So my qual time of 6th meant nothing as im now last.. could only get back up to 8th or so by the end. ..

I've also had this, I was Pole position with a qualifying time of approx +3secs on anyone else. By the time the race started I had 2nd, 3rd and 4th literally on my rear bumper. I thought they were cheating some how, but looks like it may be a glitch!

I've seen physical pile ups. Once the game glitched out and shot the guy from the rear like a slingshot before the race started, having me and 4 otehrp layers "start" in a wrecked state with 10-second penalties . Odd .

Oooohhh that same pole sitter statement peaks my interest. Could they be doing some trickery?
