Well, this is so contradicting my name, but its not an Impreza. It is the Mazda RX-7 FC. I won so many races. I got the perfect settings for every aspect (handling, accel., speed, drift)

YES!

I can't say the FC grew on me, though. I loved it before I bought it. I now own about 10 of them at various levels of tuning. (I also own a real one -amazing car!) Interestingly though, I don't think I've actually used an FC in any races... I should do that.

now, to stay on topic...car that has grown on me...hmmm...ahh i know: the old GT40. It handles way better than I expected it to. I thought It would suffer from severe oversteer and be really hard to control, but it flies around the 'ring with ease.
the BMW Z4 is a nice car too
also the Proto Motors SPIRRA was a nice surprise

this is what GT is all about. I had never heard of half of the cars in GT4. I like to look through different countries and car companies and find weird, unusual, and/or obscure cars that i've never driven before.

obscure.. AKA Volvo 240? :D

holy smokes, I just quit a racing series to find the name of the buick, but you named it- I hadn't scolled through the posts until now.

The 1962 Buick Special fully tuned, I'm in total agreement.

With 860 hp, I can't get enough B-Spec, watching this lowrider-looking boat of a car go flying past cars of today. It definitely handles like it's on rails, even when in A-spec mode.

Honda Integra Type-R (DC5), 444bhp, 1029kg, quick as.... i am so impressed with this car! it is a true super car killer! it sticks to its lines soo well and out accelerates and out runs most things you need it to. it would be my top car to buy, a real great under dog!

Subaru Impreza yada yada the Spec-C one. I hated it at the beggining then i gave it a run and its nice to handle with the right setup

I grew to like FFs in general after finally getting a silver medal on license test IA-2 (Alfa Romeo Spider 3.0i V6 24V at Suzuka). That test puts you through the esses at Suzuka and I was only barely able to get bronze on it at first. After about 30 or 40 tries, I managed to learn how to use lift-throttle oversteer to greatly improve my time, and a few tries later I passed the silver time.

Since then, I've had a much greater appreciation for FF cars in general, from the Volkswagen Lupo (200 A-spec points in FF Challenge) to super-fast tuner cars like the Trial Celica.

The Lancia Stratos Rally Car. At first, I thought it looked lame. Then I drove one in the S-license and I loved it so much, that I retook three times.

For me it's the road version. I have it in all 5 colours. Anyway, it doesn't look lame. It is a masterpiece, especially when the back end is out a little bit coming up to the Dunlop Chicane on Le Mans.

Another is the Tommy-Kaira ZZ-S. At 170mp/h on the Mulsanne straight, it would be keeping up with my also 170mp/h Vauxhall Vectra 3.2 V6.

The 03 Audi-TT 3.2 .. enough so that I just might have to go out and get a
real one in 07 sometime.. Though not the fastest car, very acceptable
through cornering.. just gotta love a driving mans car!

The Jensen Interceptor. When I first won it from the license tests I was disappointed. Then when I found out you could buy one used it seemed even less special. But for some reason I took it to Costa di Amalfi and the Umbria rally and I started to like it. I now have every color (14) of Interceptor in the game. They're really fun on Sarthe. I keep the suspension stock, and barely upgrade the power and just enjoy driving and watching replays. I think it has something to do with the torque of that old Chrysler engine combined with the soft suspension - I really enjoy the '71 Charger Super Bee with a stock suspension too...

cars that grew on me
AUDI r8- Mid engined Rear wheel drive missle
lancia delta S4-Pure psychotic fun on snow
ford lightning-obvious reasons(my dad has one and it is 4x as fast as this one)
Ford GT- check my avatar
Nissan xanavi nismo GT-R wicked fast, very percise handiling.
Motul pitwork Z-same reasons
HKS genki hyper silvia-wicked cool drift car
Amuse S2000 GT1- Insanely fast S2000 with exceptional handiling
Amuse carbon R R34-carbonized skyline with a very long straight pipe, good enough for me, also very good handiling

GT40 MKII, not to get on your case or anything, but do you know what this thread is about?

It's about cars that GREW on you. That is, cars that you didn't like at first, but after some time you learned to like them. It sounds like you just picked your favorite cars in GT4, but that's not what this thread is really about.

Like I said, no offense or anything, I just think you may have misunderstood the thread title. It's not asking your favorite GT4 car, it's asking which GT4 car you learned to like after some time.

those were care that grew on me, the lightning was one where i had to adjust my driving style just a hare sorry to sound off topic

The car that really grew on me was the Honda NSX-R i didn't really like the looks of it it looked a bit on the 'Trying to be futuristic' side of things but i went out and bought it and it was a real gem to drive on 'The Ring' with a few modifications of course;)

The other car that really grew on me was the Toyota AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version i the reason i didn't really like it that much because of it looked a little bit dated but for some reason every time i saw it on the used cars list i wanted to buy it so in the end i thought what the hell and i modded it a touch and it goes like stink fair play ok not amzing top speed but round corners it was fantastic.

Guess the saying 'Dont judge a book buy it's cover' is true

If you want a more usable power band, get a regular AE86 and add a stage 5 turbo to it. That should cure the powerband and top speed problem. My Levin can hit 165MPH on the 'Ring and get mid 7 minute lap times on S2 tires.

God I love that car.

My latest car that has grown on me the Volkswagen Golf GTI (the old one) didnt touch it until i got bored one day and went though my car lists driving all the cars i hadnt previously driven, drove this round the Ring (standard) WOW  What a car it doesnt have a whole lot of power but the handling more thean makes up for it and plus it pulls a mean skid :sly:

For mine it would be the Daihatsu Copen, that car is really bad in acceleration considering that the best time I got was 14ish seconds for 0-60mph, but it has good handling and the most important thing of all is that it's just cute :dopey:

db9. I hated it at first. I have been slightly swayed by its looks (who hasn't), but i've come to appreciate its steadiness. It turns in well, grips adequately with a hint of understeer telling you when to ease off and amazing capability to slingshot out of corners. It is as unique as it is enjoyable.
