Can you guys help me find some cars with triple exhausts? There are a few obvious ones like the Lexus LFA, Ferrari F40, and Ferrari 458, but after some researching, I can't find anything besides modified cars that have triple exhausts. If you find any, a picture would be nice but isn't necessary.

I will update the list in the OP as cars are added. Thanks!

-Bugatti Veyron
-Mitsubishi Minica Dangan

If we want to get technical, the F40 only has two exhausts, the middle pipe is the wastegate dump.
If we really want to be pedantic, the wastegate dumps exhaust through a pipe.
I think that makes it eligible.

And the LF-A's three exits are strictly cosmetic, it's one big exhaust pipe like on an Aventador. Still, details at this point.

Speaking of which, I can't think of anything else with 3 exhaust tips either.

The Scion FRS/Suberu BRZ/Toyota GT86 has a stupid-looking triangular brake light that reminds me of cars with triple exhausts.

Is there any reason why the center pipe on the 458 is slightly smaller than the outer pipes? I've always thought it was for sound, but I've never actually know if that's why they did that.

Edit: Just though of the Veyron and I think it would count as well. There are two pipes exiting through the splitter, and I think the main pipe it one, just with a divider piece in the middle of the pipe.

Here is an explanation by Ferrarichat user 458trofeo, converted from textspeak to English.

The middle pipe collects more soot because with the stock exhaust valve operation setup
the exhaust gases pass through the middle pipe at idle and at sub 3k rpm (the exhaust is in 'silent' mode), the valves open at rpm's higher than 3k when one steps on the gas and when one is going at higher speeds at the exhaust gases are then directed to the two bigger outer pipes (the exhaust gets louder)

Completely forgot about the Veyron. Never knew it had those extra two exhaust pipes until a month or so ago. 👍

The Veyron is a quad exhaust at heart.

The LFA is actually 3 separate exhaust tips out of the muffler.

The Aventador is pretty much the same.

Thanks but I'm mainly looking for cars with three exhausts coming out the back. You usually see cars with 1, 2, or 4. Hardly ever with 3. :)👍

Great thread. I always like seeing cars with unique and functional exhaust. Always been a huge fan of the LFA especially for this reason.

I second that. Didn't knew what Fred just mentioned about the F40 and it really "Wowed" me!

Seeing as you guys are including merging pipes together...I don't think that's technically fair considering how each header tube off the exhaust port merges into a single pipe at the flange...

I'm really just looking for cars with three exhaust tips coming out the back. If its 3 separate ones like on the 458 or 3 merged ones like on that Mitsubishi, it still counts IMO. :)

Thanks for those 2 cars, Dennisch and RocZX. :)👍

I'm going to need somebody to explain to me how an engine can have 5 valves.

It is 5 valves per cylinder. 3 intake, 2 exhaust. So it actually has 15 valves. And a turbo. And 4wd. And 3 exhausts.

I figured that was probably it, just haven't ever seen an engine identified by valves per cylinder before, I always see total valve count instead. :dunce:

What a fantastically bonkers little car. I want one!

Ford Modular V8s are commonly Identified by Valves per cylinders since there are SOHC 2v, SOHC 3v and DOHC 4v versions.

It gets confusing for someone who doesn't know the terminology as well since older engines were also labeled 2V and 4V but for the number of Venturi (barrels) in the carb over valves per cylinder (which were all 2) while sometimes changing head types per carburetor. Ill admit, I used to say 2 valve and 4 valve on old engines haha.
