Hello Gentlemen (i would say ladies too, but lets not kid ourselves)
I have a problem and hope you can help me solve it.
I'm always looking for a room that doesn't use ABS or tuning and ideally not racing tyres. Normally, this kind of room is for a more serious racer (which is good), but usually ends up being a private race, so you have to join a league and race on a given day at a particular time
This is inconvenient for me, as I simply don't have the time and can't commit to the schedule.
I've had a look for casual clubs on here, but there doesn't seem to be any. If there are, let me know, as this would be the ideal solution to my problem (mainly because it doesn't involve me thinking).
However, there is another solution and that involves me starting this 'casual' racing club. Here's my idea.
As I don't have the time or availability, it wouldn't be run by me, it would be run by all who want to get involved. My initial post would simply be a rally point for like minded racers.
When a room is opened, the owner would post the room number here along with the regs. It should be kept as simple as possible, so no tuning and 1 make races only. Only one Casual Racing Club (CRC) room should be open at any time, so once the room has closed online, the thread should be notified too.
Here's an example of what one should post when opening a room.
ROOM OPEN
Name : CRC Stock Z4
Room No. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Car : BMW Z4 stock
Tyres : Sports Hard
PP : 490
That's it, it's as simple as that.
Ideally I want to keep this as inclusive as possible, so it acts as a gateway for first timers using 0ABS, but also keep the serious racer happy. This is why I think it makes sense to have the same car and no tuning. Also, the car chosen should not be 800bhp on comfort hard tyres. You don't need tonnes of power for a good race, in fact some of the best races I've had, have been in the MX5 roadster touring car.
I'm sure I'll need to flesh this out a bit more, but thought I'd throw it out there and see what kind of response there is.
Happy racing
