Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo REVEALED!

Many people have mentioned this, both in and outside this forum. I read a magazine article (can't quite remember from whom), where the author also mentioned a ticking noise when he was going up the rev range. The trailer noise seems to fit the description, and the odds of that being the "official" noise are quite high. As I said before, PD can't really have acess to a laser engine noise since there aren't many cars in the world like this one... (if any)

Edit: Here is the magazine article, it is from Road & Track; http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-rev...ran-turismo-first-virtual-drive?src=soc_fcbks
It makes sense because that's how the engine works. Rapid heating of air that bursts, causing it to move forward. But it does it over and over and over.

When GM is done with promoting the car, maybe in about a year or so. I hope it winds up at the Permian Basin Petroleum / Chaparral Museum in Midland, TX.

Perhaps the ticking starts out slowly, and then gets more and more ticky (if that's a word) when you rev up the engine all the way to the top. If anything, there will be a ticking noise to hear, probably the intensity of it is the main change.

It would be cool if that happened, a sign of good will by GM putting the 2X alongside its brothers. If not, there's always a GM museum. But the Chaparral museum is a better idea.

The "throttle" would essentially change the frequency in which it causes the explosions. So full throttle would cause it to pop super fast regardless of speed.

Hope that makes sense.

I think I got it; the "throttle" would modulate the frequency of the ticking, up to a point where we would have constant ticking noise at full "throttle". Right?

The ticking could be the cars propulsion system gauge...

Man I swear, if GM just said this car had a V8, I bet half of these propulsion jokes would've never happened... I know it's hard to believe, but damm some just love poking fun at it.

It'd be better if I still lived in Hobbs so that I could bop down there and see it. Since I don't live so close these days, I guess I'll have to live without.

 I hope the bodywork is non-flammable. I think we can safely say bump drafting or following close would end in tragedy.

I just wish we know want day this comes out as i have plans to do (and that involes moving) meaning i need a patch ASAP then i can pack my ps3 away until i know want day i get back online

Should be Thursday morning for you.

Imagine kicking up dirt, which gets caught in the path of the laser beam, then gets ignited and leaves a trail of fire (Or one big explosion).
The 2X does have a laser deflector so that can't happen unfortunately. If it didn't, it would burn a hole into someone's head behind it.

Challenge accepted. :mischievous:

I had an obsession with putting dirt and snow tires on cars that usually don't allow them in GT5 and this is a car I definitely look forward to trying on dirt and snow when OFW hybridng comes around. When that time comes around, I may make a video of it for you guys to see. Should be interesting.

Didn't you make an off-road F40 with jacked-up suspension?

Currently having a talk with Taku from Polyphony about the update, he said that the "massive update" was the one with community features.

Don't expect Spec 2.0 any time soon.

No Chaparrel VGT either, just bug fixes with the maintenance.

Indeed I did. As a matter of fact I added dirt and snow tires to every car in the game. (Literally) The Red Bull X2010 wasn't a pleasant car to drive on dirt or snow when I tried it in GT5. I have a feeling the 2X will have handling somewhat similar to the X2010 so it will probably be hard to control on dirt and snow.

First of all, its "Chaparral"; not "Chaparrel". Secondly, where did you know this exactly? Is there any clear proof of this dicussion? Just asking.
