Hello fellow gtp's hope your looking forward to a great christmas.

I'm have my first attempts at buying headphones, up untill now I have been using cheap £1 ones you get with cheap mp3players or on planes, however they break every week (either the cable or the speaker starts crackling).

Now I have thought about getting some decent headphones.

I can only afford £10-20 however they need to be very strong, I don't mind about amazing sound quality they just need to be strong, they spend most of the day in my pocket and will be getting quite abit of wear.

I have seen these.

Your views and experiances please.
I'm completely new to buying headphones so any help counts.

Tks

2nd ones... 100%
Had mine for 2 years. Been through French Alps and a couple of trips to Australia.
Still mint condition. Phenomenal sound quality as well!
:D

I highly recommend the first ones too. I've had my set for just over a year now, they've been through all sorts of wear and tear but still produce the same great sound they did when I bought them.

They'll both be great.👍

When I have read reviews the 300's seem to be slightly less sound quality but more durable, the 500's have a couple of reviews saying bad build quality and that they fall apart but abit more bass.

Are their any other makes that you could suggest, I'm open to any options as I said I have no knowledge of headphones.

About the only time I use headphones are mowing the yard. So I have tried several but started buying some by Maxell that are dirt cheap $5.99 at my local food store. The sound isn't bad (they are headphone buds) not just buds might be hard to keep in pocket, you can hear outside world if not turned up too high. Last fairly well as I stated I use them mowing (riding mower) so I have broken a couple pair not Maxell's fault. You should be able to find them in the UK as the package has UK address listed. I try to keep a spare set at the house. The Model # HB-202/ Item #190317. They are grey/black. The package says Lifetime Warranty so the last time I replaced mine I keep receipt just to see what would happen when I tear up another $5.99 set of headphones.

Ok, I bought a pair like that for £4 from a supermarket however they broke soon afterwards, I was looking at these sennheiser ones because they are a "well known" brand. I would be using mine all day so I don't know how well they would cope then.

I've recommended the CX 300 II to my brother and got them for my wife and they are both made up with them but I'm sure either pair will be good so wouldn't worry too much about the odd bad review.

As I said... Sennheisser all the way!
Previously I went through many cheaper earphones from JVC/Phillips etc until I came across those.
I have 3 pairs of Sennheissers (DJing ones, running ones, and those CX500s) and all are brilliant sound quality and none have broken yet.
Do it...
:D

I would recommend Sony ones, for the £10-20 range you can get decent enough in-ear models and they are damn durable. I have the MDR-EX35LP ones and the amount of times they have been pulled from my ears (getting caught on things etc) shows they are quite strong.

I have the CX-500, they are great, I have to say I have been through a few pairs, but I do wear them out in the open at least 5 days a week and use them for audio a few hours each day. So yeah I would recommend them.

They should come with a 3 year warranty as well, but I don't know how that holds up.

I have made my decision I'm going to get the sennheisers 300 ii ones.
