Chi Cheng, Deftones Bassist Passes AwayMusic

Was never a huge fan of Deftones, however it's always sad to here a rocker pass away. RIP Chi.


Apparently he passed away from complications following a coma from a car accident in 2008 where he was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

One of my friend's bands was going to be an opening act for a Deftones tour that got canceled because of that car accident. Sad, but that's what happens when you don't wear a f:censored:ing seatbelt.

^^^ not in all cases. I was in a roll over accident when i was 18 that would have killed me if i had been wearing my seatbelt.
The vehicle i was in afforded me with 1/2 inch head room at the drivers seat. The top of the seat was 9 inches from the roof. When the car landed on its roof it crushed the roof 4 inches into the seat.

I ended up in the rear hatch without a scratch. If i was strappes into the drivers seat, i would have had my head crushed in.


I know i am in the minority and seatbelts do save lives.
