Now hear me out. Clark Kent is Superman. Superman can be translated - at least roughly - into ubermensch, a term coined by Nietzsche in his 1883 book "Thus Spoke Zarasthura." Now, Zarasthura, who's also known as Zoroaster, is the founder of Zoroastrianism, whose main benevolent deity (not unlike YHVH) is Ahura Mazda, which in turn is the namesake of the Hiroshima-based automaker. Therefore, Clark Kent drives a Mazda.

Thinking Think GIF by Rodney Dangerfield

It's a plausible theory on the basis of Newton's 5th Law of Motion, which states, Miata is always the answer.
I could see a Miata being fitting for the comedic factor, of this bulky Kryptonian fitting into this relatively compact sports convertible. But I wonder if an Autozam AZ-1 would be even more comedic - not to mention a demonstration of Superman's "worldly" nature, as the AZ-1 was only sold in Japan IIRC.
