yes, I posted this too on the hot rods, cutsom and muscle car thread, but I think this car is just too awesome, so I'd like all of you to check it out. Meet the Chicayne, a 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne built by Troy Trepanier and crew @ Rad rides by Troy for Billet Specialties President Glen Grozitch ... this dudes really know how to do stuff. look at the cleanliness of lines... yes, the car is pretty on the outside:

an its interior is quite amazing too:

unpolished leather. it should be done more often. anyway, the car is cool. but the real kicker here is its powerplant...

yes, those are the direct-from-the-block headers getting into twin Precision turbochargers. the engine is the best looking engine I have seen, EVER. and it has some cool power too. how about 1200 hp from 406 CI ALL- ALLOY small block from DART racing engines, with EFI and an impressive host of gizmos all around?
yeah, welll. get this: it averages 19 miles per gallon. yes, with 1200 twin turboed HP on tap. If you ask me, it is really pure genious. even the suspension is impressive, despite having airbags, the car still pulls 1G on the skid. I just cant believe it.

maybe you are hooked too with chicayne. I am. wanna find out more about it? go to its official web page, www.chicayne.com. if you want a really good gallery of this car, log on to www.sportmachines.com/gallery/Chicaynes to watch the beauty of this thing. Im waiting for hot rod online to publish the article on this thing, in the meanwhile, I just read in baer brake's web page that this car costed a damned million dollars... well, I dont know if that is true, but it might be just as sick to cost that. I hope I can get some more info on it.

The interior looks spectacular and the engine is something to die for, the rim's are eye candy aswell. But the car itself just doesn't look right. The cab looks too far forward in that second pic and that green striping doesn't do it any justice. It just looks to arched in the center for my liking. Good engine, good interior, bad car IMHO

hahaha, yeah, that is the only complain I have about it. and yes, the 62 impala isnt precisely a damned beautiful car, but I like its design. at least its not another camaro or something like that. part of it is that Troy Trepanier always uses odd cars to build stuff over :odd:

Damn, all those horsepowers, and yet it probably never runs on its own power, like most show cars. And even if it does, it's too low to make good usage of the power. It's a waste, if you ask me.

I"m with PR on the engine aspect but looks-wise it rocks. And one thing, why does everyone call wheels "rims"? They aren't rims unless they are there to look good and are too big for the car. Otherwise they are just wheels or racing wheels.

Yeah, apart from the stripe, that car is a peach:) Love those seats too! And that engine - WOW! I'm salivating as I speak, er, type;)

erm, it has airbags, but it still gets 1G+ on the skidpad. besides, it wasnt meant for track-racing, but for the road. and in the road it belongs!!! it made power tour 2003 without a damned hiccup. (power tour is a 7 day crosscountry drive sponsored by HOT ROD mag) and the owner uses it almos daily, because, well, it is DEPENDABLE and it doesnt eat fuel with a spoon. yeah, I HATE show cars and trailer queens too, punk rock. that is why I have never posted anything that isnt driven. Chicayne is no esception. troy trepanier has always built dependable hot rods with such a quiality that they look like show cars, but they show on the road. even when touring with the "power fests" (hot rod mags own series of car shows) the cars troy builds always go with their own power. and they are better than most show cars. always.

trailer queens and show cars suck. they are lame.
