Sort of reminds me of the attempted assassination of President Reagan (the shooter was alleged to have been inspired by the film, Taxi Driver). Only this time, he succeeded.
 
Christina was a really lovely person, first got to know of her seven years ago. It was a bit of a shock that someone would murder someone. Especially in such a senseless fashion... Massive Zelda, Sonic and Pokemon fan, with quite a voice

Normally I don't like the idea of mourning celebrities but I find her murder just down right senseless and stupid...

I find this thread odd - she's all the things you seem to rail against; a celebrity (check), outspoken humanist opinions (check), publicly advocated LGBT rights and issues (check), earnt a lot of money (check).

Her passing is sad and senseless and she shouldn't be dead, it's terrible... but your thread surprised me nonetheless.

It's reminiscent of Rebecca Schaeffer... young, talented woman shot dead by some crazy stalker.

Not implying they're connected in any way, but isn't it quite the coincidence that this and the Pulse shooting both happened in Orlando within days of each other?

The funny thing about her is that her vicious murder happened within hours of her friend (Selena Gomez) own concert here in Orlando.

From what I read Ms. Grimmie and Ms. Gomez are friends, thing is Ms. Gomez was performing here in town 4 hours before Grimmie was shot.

Still does not link anything. Christina herself was performing just before she was shot. The only thing I can think of is how sad all her friends and family must be, and Selena because she was nearby and maybe they planned to hang out later. Because those of us who knew her but not well, or had some sort of link with her are definitely sad.
