Week 37 will be the race for Christmas.
And you will decide which track we will use that week, by voting for one track from a selection of 6.
I picked 2 city courses, 2 world courses and 2 original courses among racers' favorites or tracks we haven't used yet. (Tracks are listed alphabetically).

You have exactly 10 days to elect our Christmas track, and then I'll have another 10 day period to choose a car and set up the race itself.

👍

Voted for Fuji because I didnt know about the wrs until week 7 and i missed the Fuji race....looked like a good one too...
I'm just loving how u have taken everything over so well F.O. great job man 👍 👍

Looks like a 2 horse race between El Capitan and George V Paris, although Fuji 2005 is making a good showing (I voted for it).

On two party prefered I'd probably go for George, we've already done El Capitan (almost twice, if you include Cathedral Rocks) and I'd hate to do the same track twice (Unless it's trial).

Of course no one has choosen New York because...umm...It sucks.

Voted!

Fuji was the track of choice, i love the flowing lines and un-rushed nature of the track.

You can drive really quickly around it (speed-wise), without the unending pressure of constant changes of direction and gears you get on a city course.

A nice relaxing, fun drive for the holiday period. Something to take our minds off of the hastle and stress of christmas!

Who wants to drive a frantic race with a belly full of xmas lunch and drink?

Not me!

we have done El' Cap two and a bit times already,
Wk 1- El'Cap reverse (which I didn't compete in, but did play. I hadn't completed my qualifier in time), Wk13- El'Cap fwd, Wk 9 Cathedral rocks.
Mind you, thinking about it.........It is a nice track once you get the layout into your brain, so maybe it wouldn't be bad to return to it.

But I still would prefer Fuji!

I voted for El Capitan, great track with fun and challenging corners. Prob the best track before the almighty Nurb and La Sarthe...

I voted Fuji 2005, apart from the fact i love it theres other reasons:P

Autum mini i think is too short lol.
El capitan has been done twice.
Launa seca has been done already.
New yorks been done.
Wouldnt mind george v but i prefer Fuji.

And we have only had Fuji 90s in Week 2.

I vote New York.

You can't have Christmas in New York without having a race. :sly:

Yes you can, very easially too by the look of things.

The only race you can have in New York at christmas, is the race to the ER after getting mugged! J/K-Honest! :D

New York (the track, that is) sucks so bad it could draw a golfball through a garden hose! ;)

I voted for El Capitan because I could run every week on this track. I just fell in love with this track the very day I bought my GT4 disc.

I noticed that some people who voted haven't registered in the WRS yet (so far 3 of 24 votes). Of course they are free to give their opinion even if they don't race, that's why the poll has been posted.
However, depending on the final results of the voting, I might only take into account the votes from registered drivers since I don't want the track selection to be affected by people who don't race.

U.S. tracks don't have much success so far, while Fuji seems to be the favourite.

Edit :
BTW, I don't think New York (the track) sucks. It's pretty interesting because it mixes 90° turns which require a good turning ability (and mass transfer) with long straights which require a high top speed.
Anyway we eventually will run on every one of the selected 6, it's just a matter of time. The poll only concerns which track we will use for Christmas.

flat-out

I think El Capitan is in America...

I think El Capitan is in America...

You're right, it's based on a real location named 'El Capitan' in the Yosemite Park. I don't know if the tracks/roads used in the game exist, but certainly not as a permanent circuit.

If only PD had included probably THE most scenic and technical, but flowing track in the world instead of one of the city courses (preferable Seole(sp))

Phillip Island!

Now that track i would race every day regardless.

I would die a happy man if they include it in GT5 (or whatever they are going to call it)

Neil

EDIT
Cyril, Fair comment.
Yes it's challenging, has 90 deg corner combinations and high speed straights. I just found that i couldn't relax and get into the flow, like I can on tracks like Fuji, Suzuka et al.
However, conversly, i do like Monaco and opera-paris.......

Nowt like a racer to contradict himself! :)

God yeah that would rule.

I really HATE Fuji 2005. Too many blind and unmarked corners! Not to say that one couldn't come to grips with it, and it's plenty wide! :^) It'd be a challenge, and a good week to do it as I'll have a lot of time on my hands!

Autumn Ring Mini would be fun in a Kei car or something with low grip and low power. Or maybe in a fully modified GT mode GSX-R4? I'm still waiting for that car to be used.... LOVE IT!

Okay, a GSX-R4 at Paris George. Sold!!! I vote Paris.

I'm not too fond of Fuji either, it seems to me like it was poorly designed. I'm much more partial to the older Fuji tracks.

I won't be here - I don't think - so I voted for "George V Paris", just to throw a wrench into the works.

I spent about 30 mins trying different cars on George paris last night, will give it another today.

But, if the vote goes to that track and the car doesn't REALLY,REALLY,REALLY suit it, then I will probably not compete.

It's dark, slimey, has more than a couple of corners where if you follow the visual clues you turn in the wrong direction.

It's a fitting tribute to parisian driving.

And we all know that no-one 'enjoys' driving in Paris! Even the Parisians hate driving in Paris!

No offence meant to anyone French on here, especially Cyril, but i think i do have a point.

Neil

I'm voting George V. It's a great track IMO. Tricky at first, but once you learn it, very fun.

I would also like to plug the Mitsubishi CZ Tarmac for this race. Vexd has been asking for this car for what seems like forever. It would make a nice combo. :)

I couldn't decide so I didn't vote.
However, I feel like Autumn Ring Mini would be a gift.

On the other hand, I feel like George V would have an atmosphere of christmas eve.
Night time racing, all those pretty lights and beautiful sites!

I'm just gonna have to say that the car is what will make the difference.

Autumn Ring Mini can pretty much use any car as long as the power isn't at a rediculusly high level.

George can only use cars with lots of control and grip.
To be honest, I think using the 206 Rally Car on George would be perfect. 👍 👍

Right now I've set up the 205 street car in my N, S, R time trials.
I did that just so the 206 rally/ george V combo wouldn't be used.

Don't let me down flat-out. ;)

I suppose that also settles it for me. :D
George V it is. 👍

christmas in paris... you a romantic kent? :P

anyway... my vote goes for the autumn mini, that track is always a blast.
(granted i'd love to see el-cap... but we've done it twice already, so...)

and seriously, i'm in that confused crowd of people wondering why on earth anyone would want to drive on fuji '05... its bland, unfinished, and 0% fun.

go autumn ring mini, only 5 votes to tie!

also, i love this type of thread... i hope we get a thread like "what type of car would you like to use"... or "which brand"... that would be nice too...
