So whats wrong with Chrysler trying to build a Rolls Royce look-alike for $50K?
Nothing, I think its a good idea and it will sell. As long as it actually isnt sold for $90k like the VW Phaeton then they will likely grab a chunk of the uber luxury market. Would be nice to see it in a few different colors other than this poop brown though. :yuck:

£50k for a luxury car is super cheap, let alone $50k. We pay $35k for a VW Golf GTi.

It looks more like a Roll-Royce than a Bentley. I dislike it, expecially the rear styling. If they keep the price down that low it'll be bargin of the century...

Porsche Cayenne turbo meets chrysler crossfire

put a continental gt in there. nobody can make a bentley/ roller wannabe, because it lacks the passion and art that bentley/ roller is made of, that DOES NOT i repeat DOES NOT have any presence, im afraid, it's very very very very VERY ugly, but, the interiot loks top class though. it wont come near our bentleys and rolls royces. sorry.

I personally think the new Rolls Royce is rubbish now that BMW has taken control of the company. It seems like all of it's British character has been filtered through a German strainer, and they came out with a gigantic, unatractive, and over priced piece of British cough*German*cough automotive design.

Bentley has fared much, much better after moving under the wings of Volkswagen. Atleast they still design and build many of their parts in-house, obviously with the exception of the Phaeton/A8 chassis and powertain choises. But the design is still uniquely Bentley, the interior screams British high-class, and they have proved time and time again, they build some of the best cars in the world.

As far as Chrysler building a compeditive car in the big-lux segment for $50K, it would only pass in the US. We Americans love our big highway crusing automobiles, and a deal is a deal in many cases. But this would be a car to compete with the long-rumored Cadillac ULS and Lincon Town Car replacement... And that is tough competition...

I agree, they've built a superb car spec and quality wise, but it just doesn't float my boat. Bentley is the current Roll's.

Maybach is the daddy. If you go to the four seasons at canary wharf there are about 2 new rolls there a couple bentleys and ferraris. However when a Evo pulled up at the hotel all the security guys were oogling over that instead

I don't like the Maybach that much either, I prefer the Rolls to the Maybach .

Bentley> Maybach > Rolls Royce > Mercedes-Benz > Audi > BMW > Volkswagen
Id say the Chrysler Imperial fits right in about...............................^ here

Let me fix your list for you:
YSSMAN
Audi > BMW > Rolls Royce > Maybach (luxury only Mercs look better) > Mercedes-Benz > Bentley > Volkswagen > Nissan/Infinity > Cadillac > Acura > My two feet > Chrysler

:sly:

It looks like the unwanted, b*stard child of a Grand Cheroke and a RR Phantom - it needs drowning at birth IMO!

The side-on view looks like a 5 year old's attempt at drawing a car.

Grand Cherokee, that's it! I was trying to figure out where I've seen that face before. It was driving me nuts. :D

You bastardised it, since when were Audi's and BMW's better than Bentley's?

Because Bentley's are over priced and frankly overweight. You can just slightly less luxury but a whole hell of alot more style and performance. It's just my opinion.

Fair enough, personally I still think they're better than BMW's and Audi's.

There is no 7 series of 5 series to compete with any bentley. Audi has its s8 but the bentley equivelant is nicer, more prestigous and has more power but costs about 20-30 k more.

Bentleys may be a bit overweight, but I wouldnt ever dream of using them as a sports car. Cars like the Continental Flying Spur are meant to be driven at a speedy pace down the highway, not bombing down the backroads of Kentucky looking for a Corvette to chase down...

yea, but it actually looks pretty good. I dont know if the first ones looked like crap because of poor lighting or they are just a render or what...its the same car but looks so much better in the newer pics.

Chrysler even said they were copying the rolls royce when they decided to build this. Why would you do such a thing?

To me, it looks like a cheap imitation of a respectable car. The design ruins everything.

If you want a Rolex but have only $300, would you buy a $300 Seiko or $300 imitation Rolex? That's just me me though. :)

 I love Seikos... hell, who needs a watch that expensive anyway?

This one puts the final nail in the coffin on Chrysler's grand slam run in the concept wars.

The Dodge Caliber is another one of those answers to the question that's never been asked kind of cars. It looks handsome from some points, but it's just too left-field... and not in a nice way, either. 👎

The Dodge Challenger (like the Miura) is just lazy retro. Sure, they're both nice designs, but hell, any hotrodder could make one... they're just copies of the originals, and nothing new or unique is being said there. 👎 If you guys want to do retro right, just take a gander at the new Camaro.

The Jeep Compass just sucks on so many levels it's unbelievable. How that one got past the initial sales pitch to the board is beyond me. 👎

The Jeep Wrangler looks good though. 👍 ...oh wait, they didn't change anything.

The Aspen: why? 👎

And now this, the Imperial. Take off the badge. Now tell me... is it a Kia concept or Chinese? Be honest now. 👎 Oh wait, the Chinese don't do exact clones of competitors. :indiff:

I'm not a big fan of the 300, but how they could go from the 300, which had a very distinct design identity, to this in just a year or two just boggles the mind.
