Any tips for this? The Audi is basically undrivable I find, almost like it's on ice. I've golded all the other circuits I've tried but finding this one impossible

It's been a while since I did this CE and I could be terribly wrong but ...
As a start : Try to be ready with breaking well in time before turning in - simple as that.
Would you report back what you find ?

Stating the obvious. But watch the demonstration videos, particularly the braking points, and gears.

Whenever I find myself off the pace it’s usually because I’m a gear too low or braking when not needed. There’s a reason why even pro drivers look at the data to find those extra few tenths.

I eventually got gold, took me over an hour for sector 2, sectors 1 and 3 gold first time! Ah well it's done now, as you say nothing is impossible!

Yeah trick in sector 2 was to brake early and go slower which ultimately gave a better lap time

It's easier than it was when the game launched. I golded it with the old and new physics patch in about 5 minutes with a controller and automatic transmission, but I also put countless (literally it doesn't count) miles of hotlapping for weekly races on the track.

Maybe it helps.....

My advice, especially in S2, is to be careful with the brakes, brake a little earlier but weaker and then let the car roll with a little gas pedal. The car becomes unstable if you completely release the accelerator pedal in a corner. Better a little more gas, because the R8 has enough traction on the rear axle, you notice that when accelerating out of the corner. But be careful too much gas pedal too soon and the car understeers, which means that you can use it very well with acceleration and reducing it again around corners can "steer".

TCS is not necessary for the car ( My times were created before patch 1.13), but the countersteering assistant can be of help to some drivers. ASM should be avoided as it destroys the feel of the car and slows it down too much.

Move the brake bias about see if it helps i think i was 2 to the rear but can't be sure also keeping a little throttle applied while braking
helps.

Thanks all, I don't use the assists and got it done eventually by braking early. Using a g29 wheel, no assists and no TCS and I kept the brake bias at 0. As someone said better to keep a little throttle on I found, ever when braking as lifting off fully unsettled the rear too much.

By the way.. The R8 is very similar to the Huracan in Barcelona and also the Ford GT in Daytona, the same driving style helps there.

The above is key, do not try to overdo it in sector 2, smooth is quick here.
If you look at his sectors the car seems easy to drive, thats what you want to see
In the whole lap all sectors al pretty forgiving, even before 1.13.
I'm going with xMAXIx79 here, TCS and ASM off, I found countersteering feels like it's working against me so personally i leave it off.

Great racing MAXI

So far I have found both fishermans ranch and springs circuit experience rally the hardest ones without touching barriers. Still haven't Golded them yet.

If it helps, set TC to 1 after Turn 1 until just before you enter the tunnel for added traction. Rest is relatively fine with no assists. Finished 0.7 seconds better than the required gold time for the entire lap.

It is like driving on ice, especially with everything off. Now that we have leaderboards im curious whether the top players are using aids.

They are not, well apart from ABS default, I can say this because all the other aids make you slower. ;)

The only issue with the circuit experiences are some are way too easy (hi Interlagos) and then ones like this (and other harder ones) seem like a massive spike in difficulty, when really they are at a fair level, well before the physics update anyway, maybe too easy for some people now.

Even flashing your lights thru the corners so the cameras know to follow you, show off!!:):):)
Nice lap!!!

I don't really care about what aids top drivers use, but I really miss having a chance to watch the top 10 replays.
I know how good these guys are, but some of their times seem pretty impossible, so I'd really love to see how they do it.

lol that was an accident i use the left stick to control the car and with these cars understeering so much im pressing the L3 when turning

I thought they used to show the replay of the top 5.

Does anybody think the Audi actually drives like that IRL?
i doubt it he dosent seem to be sliding like i was lol

I eventually did them. I found a great trick on the rally stages. As you turn or slide into the corners, to avoid losing traction and slide less, shift down one gear then up one gear to two gears. Car will appear to sound and feel like it's accelerating more slowly, but in fact you are pulling more torque out of the car and a higher gear gains more traction and more speed.

Yeah, I noticed that I did the exact same thing with the DS4 until I got a wheel. I was watching one of my replays trying to figure out why my lights were flashing. Now I just happen to notice all the time when watching replays.:lol:
