Civic vs. C5!

seen the whole snitzit on another board...

the guy in the Vette didn't know how to drive...

i laugh when he said "new tires still shiny" or something like that... mullet guy can't drive!!!

That was hilarious. Thanks. It's still odd to see all the bragging and posing going on in that forum, even though the race is over. Ah well.

There are lots of things you have to think about though. The Civic guy LIVES for the drag race. The Corvette people just want a fast good looking American muscle car *grunt grunt*

The Corvette rides around in style catching looks, while the Civic can be a bit uncomfortable and tends to attract a lower mental capacity.

Personally, I don't want either one. The "riced" Civic is too small and requires too much work, and the Corvette is a boat with a big engine. I want something from the middle like an RX-7, S2000, 3000GT or Z300/350. These are the cars that are "Fun to drive"

Loud: True. And you also have to consider that not everyone who has a fast car knows how to drive it. I think it's pretty clear that the Corvette guy was pretty clueless to how to launch his car.

Where I live, anyway, there seems to be a lot of examples of people who can't handle their cars, particularly with Corvettes. My guess is it's probably simply that the Corvette is one of the most affordable examples of a car which has capabilites far exceeding a lot of drivers.

For example, about a year ago, a guy around here decided to take his new Vette out to see what it would do. He found out. He also seems to have found out that no car handles a hard uphill turn very well at around 140MPH. He wound up putting his new car through a billboard at top of the hill (The billboard was only a few feet off the ground; not one of those two-story jobs).

Either that or people forget the laws of physics or something.

And, to be honest, I don't want a Corvette or Civic, either. I'd rather have an S2000 or, should I get more money than I know what to do with, an NSX. The RX-8 looks pretty interesting, too. (I'd consider the 350Z, but I've had a couple of Nissans. Very good cars, but not great.)

Kind of a rambling post, but what the 'ell.

Indeed, I'd want my car to stand out!
