Nope, I wax it occasionally.

Having some work done :( bit more welding on the sills and then some new suspension bushes. Only problem now it that the power steering rack is leaking so I need to track down the source.

The E30 has gone, made a small loss but I did overpay originally and who doesn't lose on a car normally. Gone to a trader who's going to do a proper restore.

Sad to see it go but I've owned a straight-six E30 and have had many good times with it. Maybe I'll own another one later in life as a second car.

Sad to see it go. :(

I understand the need for a working daily-able car though. At least you can now say you've had the E30 experience when people bang on about these cars.

how hard was it to find the wheels? I want a set for my mk2 golf (bmw off set gives it more poke ;) )

Watch this space, 130i incoming. :)

Mmmmm, straight-six goodness :P

I've had it since Saturday, done 500 miles in already just driving around :S

I'm off work tomorrow so will give it a wash and take some pics. Need to take the front bumper off to change the kidney grills as well.

I'm loving it but am missing an LSD coming out of slow corners, traction is surprisingly helpful when pushing it on damp roads with this much power. It's so stupidly quick I fear for my licence.

:P

Blimey, if I didn't travel back up to the Midlands in the '8 I'd have still not done 500 miles in 6 months! How's the fuel consumption in them? Glad to hear you're enjoying it. 👍

It probably wouldn't be too bad driving on long runs. Too and from work (3 miles each way) it's not too bad, it's just because I've been out hooning most days :).

Having air com and heated seats etc is a blessing I never thought I'd appreciate this much. Add to that the BMW Professional Audio this car has and it's an awesome cruiser on the motorway. Whisper quiet and more than enough oomph for overtaking.

Conversely when you want to attack a good road it changes direction very well, and has a really nice quick rack. The brakes are stingingly good and the engine is just plain awesome, so much torque and power. As I said before all it could do with is an LSD for better traction out of slow corners but I will be rectifying that sometime in the new year by having one fitted.

Another cool thing over the E30 (still prefer the noise and look of the E30), nobody gives this a second glance as it just looks like a 1er with the M bodykit and bigger wheels, so it's all the more awesome when you mug off things coming on to motorways and dual carriageways (Golf GTI's and Focus ST'a I'm looking at you :P)

The 1-Series grows on me more each time I see it. Was unfairly maligned at launch but time has certainly been kind to it.

I've always liked anything from that period, I've always thought Bangle BMWs look good.

Good choice. Personally I would've gone for 3-door but that's just me. I also like the blacked out kidney grille.

Three door wasn't released till 2007 and subsequently the cheapest ones are still around £10k. This one has FSH and all the options (was £31k new) and was £6500.

Should be getting round to ordering the Quaife ATB LSD soon, then later in the year the BMW performance exhaust and intake.

Quick little vid while I was just waiting for somebody.

Oh my my, that sounds really good. Do post a video once you have it installed. BMW I6s sound great when allowed to be vocal.

And updated pictures.

They we're only available on the 130i LE :(

So they're either £900 secondhand or £2400 from BMW new :|

They are on the list but after the exhaust comes the LSD :D

Got an email today to tell me that there's a delay with the exhausts being sent from Germany so I won't get it till the 8th at the earliest :(

Just found the coolest thing about my car, feel like James Bond :P

Those windows features are neat. And the power folding mirrors too.

So with the exhaust being on back order, this means that you can do the LSD first, right? :dopey:

Reminded me of this at about 1:45

I still haven't got the exhaust, the dealership I ordered it from were last told the shipment was going to be 31st of July :| So far the date has has been pushed back about four times, but hopefully I should get it them. He's doing all he can by contacting BMW in Germany to get them to send it beforehand but I'm not holding out on it. It's looking like I might not have it before I leave for my holiday. :(

In other news though I think I'll be stumping up the £1250 and getting on to Birds auto this weekend and ordering the ATB LSD :)
