Why would you buy the classic cars.

Rare Toyota 2000GT...Soft, Sloppy suspension, underpowered engine (120hp), over the top pricetag (120,000)..but..it..looks..nice but as others have said...it isn't a beauty contest.

Lotus Elan S2,S4 60's, 70's model... handles ok with racing mods but 40,000 for a 100hp convertible is not my idea of a car.

Datsun Skyline '71...Soft, Underpowered, looks like crap...25000+

any others you can think of?

CLASSIC = pricetag, engine, :thumbsdow handling...but on the otherhand if you part with enough you get  looks!

Well, you need to take a different perspective here - the writers of the GT series want the series to be an automotive encyclopedia - and part of that this is the old bangers.

I love that they put them in - I wish they were in GT3 - I mean, the original GT-R. Fantastic!

I agree with slide, the classics suck bigtime. I mean, the Toyota 2000GT is crap allround, even in looks, the '71 Skyline is most ****ing ugly thing I've seen and another classic crap is the Subaru 360...I give this car a major :thumbsdow

What about the Fiat 500R :nervous: !!!!!!!!!!!!! The 2000GT doesn't look that bad. It's a nice smoothly designed car except for the square grille at the front, but the rest of the car looks ok.

Skyline 71 is a piece of crap, GTR with FR, Low Power Engine, No Mags, Plastic Wheel Arches that dont match the car, high suspension...what were they thinking? :(

I think that they were trying to make the game an automotive encyclopedia.

At least that's what Yamauchi-san said was his goal for the GT series.

I don't agree with Eddy or slide!
The skyline '71 is a legend, and Fiat 500 also cause it's from Italy which is close to Croatia (where I come from).
Even today you can see a fiat 500 running, and not in some oldtimer clubs, but easily tuned (exhaust, carburator and so).

My first car was a cherry '80 Datsun 280ZX deep blue with headlight covers and rear windscreen louvers. A kid plowed into me head on running a stop light (trying to make a left after his turn arrow was long gone) and killed the car. The car was beautiful and it would move! I own a '92 Toyota Supra Turbo now and it has nothing on that old Datsun. So naturally, when I saw the 240z I bought it and suped it up for all it was worth! It took some getting used to just like any other car, but it's still one of my favorites in the "Fun to Drive" category! :D

Considering the number of people I put in the rear-view mirror of my RL beater (a tired '87 Corolla FWD - estimated 70 HP), I'd say forget what you're driving and learn HOW to drive!

Why don't you buy a Racing Susp and jack up the spring rates? And a turbo?
