Let's say that took a picture and then separated it into 5 parts and then would I colour one of the parts. Like 5 stripes whereof one is coloured be eligible?

As long as only one image is used, you should be fine.

You mean you'd have one strip of coloured image, while the rest of the image is black/white?

Yeah, that should be fine, as long as you're not adding lines to separate it into strips
