Further explanation of the theme, as described by bmxmitch:

"Ohh, wait what? No Aventador? Really? Nope, not this time! :P
I think we have a way greater Lambo in the game. Well, at least for me. The Countach was my
dreamcar when I was a kid. There was no other car that could come up with it's crazy design.
Sadly we have them only as standards! But as this is a 2.0 week again, I know you guys will
turn it to a premium.
So take it to the car wash and give it a spin on the great Monza track.

For inspiration, click here! There's also a nice clip from Clarkson, trying to park this thing. "

CAR: Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition '88
LOCATION: Monza (All versions)

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have any questions, please, send me a Private Message.
This Thread has everything you need to know.
  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that
can later be identified to be part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is
not immediately clear from the picture you must provide the exact location if it's queried.
  • Only one entry per user allowed. It must be that user's own work and never used in another
    competition.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your entry.
  • Entry post must be marked with a FINAL ENTRY text.
  • Entries may only be changed once and it must be indicated clearly.
  • Entries must be posted in either thumbnail or a preview. We recommend you to link either
    to it's full size.
  • Posts containing bigger previews than allowed, full sizes or links only will be ignored.
  • Previews should not exceed the limit of 500px in either direction and have any effect not present
    in the original image.
  • It's recommended the usage of a free image hosting service, such as ImageShack, Photobucket
    or Flickr.
  • If you want your entry to have a link to your full sized image in the poll, make your preview
a link to the full sized photo.
  • Only the Judge's favorite 15 entries will get through to the poll.
  • Keep in mind that the Host of this competition may ask for the original image and it must
    be submitted if so.

It's recommended to store the original image (from the USB stick) until competition week ends.

  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Add a lens flare effect.
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).
  • Add effects that make the picture look something other than a photograph.
What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).

I will put a Countach Anniversary Edition (or two) on share if anyone needs to borrow one.

So, I have seen a rule saying "No Lens Flare" during the past two weeks of this competition when editing was allowed.
Since there isn't a rule saying "no lens flare", can we add lens flare?

Don't think so, it'd be a bit unfair to users of different editing software. You'd have to rely on the in-game flaring. But seeing how that's gone due to 2.03 :banghead: you're out of luck.

hmmm....It just says "don't add effects that make it look unlike a photograph". If I can make lens flare look like it is part of a real photograph (cause I've gotten lens flare in my actual DSLR camera before, which has ruined a few of my photos .), why wouldn't it be allowed under the rules stated in the opening post?

I wouldn't really make the lens flare pronounced, just visible enough to draw attention to where I want it in the photo.

I am using GIMP 2.6.10 link to website It is free to download and runs on both Mac and PC. If I was using photoshop, I would admit that you had a point about using different editors because photoshop is far from free, but since GIMP is free, then anyone can use it really.

Thank you mitch :)👍

Note: Im gonna take it for a ride tonight and share it online after that if anybody needs it.

Editing rules here are the same as that for the 2.0 Advanced Comp in which the adding of lens flare is prohibited.

Where is that?!!? That looks like a part of Monza that isn't on GT5 maybe.
Also, I think your perspective level for your Countach might be a bit off from the background.

It's the banking. You can only see it if you go to a certain portion of the track, and then zoom in to make it look like the car is actually there, and not in the middle of the gravel trap. Look here for more details. I assure you it isn't photoshopped.

Yeah, I just gotta find that part of the track. It is part of the banked oval though, so I know it is there. So I believe you.
I wish they would put a 1931 Variant of Monza on GT5. The track was insane back then.

That is an overlay of the banked oval and the Grand Prix track.
But, there is no first chicane, the second chicane was hardly a chicane. The two corners after the second chicane where we have sand pits didn't have sand pits, there were grandstands there instead, so you would go straight into the grandstands if you went into the corners too fast. The third chicane also wasn't there.
It was an extremely fast, and quite dangerous course. I would love to see it on Gran Turismo 5 for sure.

what do you think bmxmitch?

Its under 'the' bridge; I know the editing is pretty heavy, but I've not used any tools that the rules disallow. I'm happy to change it, depending on what everyone else feels...

The location is completely unclear, and even if you identified the location, we wouldn't even be able to really confirm what you are saying because there are no background details.
It could be on SSRX or La Sarthe for all we know probably.

I know I'm not bmxmitch, but I think you've done a great job of pushing the editing to the limit with the available tools 👍 for that. I'm not 100% sure on the ruling of the text added though, but the main concern really is the location - it's so obscured I think it would be impossible to verify. Otherwise I love it. :)

My first submission to a competition :D
Only editing was a sepia filter, I do not know how to smooth the roof edges of the black Countach.

Maybe if he showed us the unedited image it would be easier to spot?
