Wow, happy to see the amount of votes and position of my entry :embarrassed:

Was a tough vote for me. Everything was proper stuff. Decided to go for 'silhouette', since thats the one that came the closest to my likings when it comes about movie posters and covers.

Really hope it'll be a tough battle this week.

Oh, i made it!
And get 1 vote!

'Day of Stupidity' really makes me lolED hard. :D

Went for BonkMeister's "Demon Driver" entry, thought it was really well done 👍

Cheers to the guys who voted for mine :)

Okay, i'll say it again. Why. why does it have 20 votes. I mean it's a good idea, but it's bassically the same as the cars character week. It's not that well done in full size.

I think it's because there is a lack of flare and quality in the rest of them. The tones and colors of the demon driver go together well, and while the text and alignment of it might not be all that great, it still goes together better than any of the others. So that being said, it's just better than the others in terms of "all around" if you know what I mean. It looked the most professional, even though the quality in full size wasn't that great.

Well I think that it fits the theme really well, the best out of the list in that respect. It doesn't look that bad in full size - certainly far superior to my own I think.

I don't wish to sound like a bit of an arse Gtuned, but seeing as you are also entered in the poll, it seems slightly bad taste to criticise another competing entry? I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, just wondering.

Come on, you really have to 'attack' your rivals again if you're not winning? Every person is different, so every person has other things they look at in these competitions. Sure, if everyone on earth had exact the same opinion as you, the standings would be different, but nobody is the same, so just accept that.

The fact that you voted for an entry where only 1 other person voted for (not a bad entry or anything), proves that you just have a different opinion and view on this one then the majority.

Like I said here before earlier, I went for Silhouette, I can name several things why I chose that one above your entry, I don't want to name them, cause to me that isnt fair to try to 'convince' people not to vote for a certain entry, but I just have my own things that I look at when viewing the entries and pick the one to vote on.

Just accept that everybody has a different view on this and may the best man win.

Okay... I ask why it's winning because In my Opinion, which a poll is about, Peoples Opinions, There are better choices. I wasn't "attacking". I wasn't like "LOL IT SUCKS IM BETTER", It's just not that good in full size. The car and bridge is cut out wierd, the jagged edges make it look cheap, i don't like the noise on the red, the Border is a bit blurry, the Effect on the car is wierd in some spots which could of been cleaned up, The picture of the car it's self could of been positioned better.

But then again, that's my opinion. I voted for "Unleashed" because it's the most like a real movie poster, it's simple but effective, and has an ominous tone to it. The Silhouette one is good, i would of liked it more without the reviews in the middle though.

I Guess i'm just a quality nazi, I can't stand artifacts, pixelization, jagged edges and blurred parts. I vote based on idea and quality, not just the idea.

Do you see fighters in the UFC go to the judges to tell why the other person should lose, when it comes to decision? Or with figure skating, you see the skaters go tell the judge why the others shouldn't win? I don't think so. This is convincing the judges not to vote for a certain contestant. I think that qualifies as swaying.

Besides, I hope I'm allowed to defend myself when being 'attacked', I don't think you know anything about Grindhouse. Some things in the poster are due to lack of my experience, but I let that bridge get that pixelated on purpose, because it fits in the Grindhouse feeling. Those movies where characterized by the bad quality in basically everything.

Hence why Quentin Tarantino, who made genious stuff like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, made a movie called Death Proof. He could've done a lot better at all area's, but it didnt fit the Grindhouse style.

Dude, calm the **** down. You're acting pretty immature. I don't see how i said that, and im not saying not to vote. I'm voicing my opinion, and guess who's still in the lead ? You. So cut it out, i said 1 thing and i didn't call it a peice of **** i was just saying what i didn't like.

If you want, I'll retract my entry since i'm swaying the polls and all this other bull**** that isn't even true cause i asked one question.

And to your other point, I've seen Kill Bill, and Pulp Fiction, but i still don't see how a pixelated bridge edge "fits the style" it looks half assed in my opinion. There's bad quality style, then there's just bad quality which it falls under to me.

And to your other point which i found immature, No the other contestants don't whine to the judges about the winner, But in cases where things don't seem right they ask what the hell is going on. Fine retract my entry, i'm really starting to not give a **** about any of the polls, including the one Nick picked me to host.

...as if there's something wrong with a picture leading the polls, just because it doesn't meet your high standards...

It's one thing to have a concern that a pic is illegal, it's another to be so routinely vocal about the way the polls are going.

Where were you when that terrible Camaro pic at Laguna Seca got a whack of votes, the one with jaggie badges, fake looking mud and a second car that was easily overlooked, despite supposedly being part of the subject... oh right, that was your pic...

Okay, now that's attacking.
First off

1. The "Jaggie badges"
Did you full view ? there's no jagged badges.

2. Fake Looking Mud
Oh, i'm sorry, i didn't know i was supposed to change the game's textures.

3. Second Car That was "overlooked"
It was put there to show the evolution, and if you looked at the picture's name which i named "Sibling Rivalry" you would of gotten that it's a Z/28 showing off and the SS off in the background giving it the cold shoulder in a way.
Hey, i wish i could of made the game look better, but then again, I'm not a bitch.

That part where i said Bitch is you.

How's that for attacking ?
Remove my entry, I don't care anymore.

Well ultimately from my point of view sometimes the techincal quality of a piece can easily be overlooked when the idea or style of the work is good. And in this particular case even though at full size some details aren't the cleanest or well refined the overall style and treament makes BM's entry a great one to me.

Your entry was great too. But for me BM got my vote likely because I prefered the style of BM's poster. The graphic style and treament feels quite pro/real in approach even though some technical aspects weren't the best.

If it were a real job in the real world, sure it wouldn't cut it.

Even considering all that, peoples personal taste is a big factor and always will be.

I think you should be happy with the fact you are quite comfortably coming second thats a great result for a great job.

At least you got yours in. I had mine 80% beofre time ran out, that really sux. I'll probably post it in here anyway when I finish it. Just to share.

Sucks, doesn't it? It's down right rude to do that to someone, isn't it? Not only is it rude to the picture taker, but the judge who picked it, and anyone who voted for it too.

And that's my point. Your comments and complaints about other people's pics have come across that way in several different poll threads, and it has deterred other people from participating. Almost stopped entering myself.

But, I doubt by your childish reaction that you get it.

Good day.

Okay, fine what the **** ever. Retract my entries from all the polls, and i'll just stop with the competitions and my thread all together since i shove people from submitting and entering and that i've done it with numerous polls.

As for my reaction, i get sick of ******** quickly, as there's a difference between what i said and what you did.

So **** it, pull my entry in this and the other polls, i'll remove my entry from the current competitions.

I really don't want to get into the discussion, but I as well, am getting tired of all these ugly discussions that have arose in the PMCs, so, excuse if some frustration is shown in this post.

As I said to Gtuned, while I am not in favor of people asking why entry X or Y is winning, I see Gtuned post more like to know what other people that voted think, more than actual whining. He not only asked and leave, he actually made a critique about it and pointed out what he didn't liked about it. I don't see as an attack, he didn't said, "hey, that entry is totally rubbish, mine is way better.", I see it more like a want to know about it. There are people who have done it before, including older users, and never a discussion this ugly and defensive had arisen. Don't get me wrong, Bonkmaister, I was a "victim" of the why entry X (mine entry) is winning, and not Y(other entry) that is way better (and I reckon it was) in the GT4 era. I know the feeling, but there is no reason to get that defensive. Yes, you have a point when you say that every person has different tastes, but things really start to derail on post #11. Yes, I voted for your entry before I saw the discussion. Would I have changed my mind after it? NO. I would steel vote for it, for the same reasons GPR posted - there are some flaws, yes, but the overall tone and impact made it for me. I don't really care for peoples opinion before I vote, only after.

In another note, I don't know why Forgetful enters the discussion to almost attack another user. I don't get it.

Just my 2 cents.

Well hopefully thats the end of that discussion and we can move on.

As mentioned earlier I said I would post what was going to be my entry, would have been nice to have it done in time. But oh well.

I would like for the discussion to end as well, but I like to get back at Nicknamealguems point for the last time. it seems that some people think I'm acting like a dick in post 10, but that wasnt my intention, I just wanted to state my view on this behaviour.

To me what Gtuned said feels the same as what I said about the judge-related sports, if an athlete go speak to the judges before they make their final decision. It would be a different story if this happens after the final decision, both in judge-related sports and in here.

It would've also been different if anyone else asked about it, since they are not competing with you for the top spots. Why didnt he wonder why I was getting votes last week, I made something way crappier in that competition?

Even if you do honestly wonder why your main rival gets votes, I don't think you should state it that way since its not very sporting. What got me upset more was his second post, where he stated like everything he could find what is wrong with my entry. I'm not saying he is wrong with every point he made there, I just don't think thats the way you should treat your fellow competitors during the competition.

Hope you guys get what I'm trying to say here. I do understand Gtuned's point, but its not really sportsmanlike to pull it off in the position where he's at in this particular competition. And I consider these competitions more about fun, respect and sportsmanship and not that much about performance and winning.

Damn, now I wish this one was done before the deadline, then this whole discussion wouldn't have started :P

Common dudes, stop fighting, The important thing is about having fun and compete, even in professional magazines I've seen horrible jaggies in the pics so, that shouldn't be a problem, the problem is when you savedata get corrupted and erase all your cars (than is my case right now, so maybe I'm not to compete in months due I lost almost everything car =/ than I Had )

P.S. At least I have 2 votes at this moment (even with that awful grammar mistake, sorry again english is my second language and I'm still having problems with some words)

C'mon guys. Enough with the bickering.
Every week I add to the theme with one rule - be creative and have fun.

I understand that the polls won't always go the way you expect them to, but there is a difference between healthy discussion + constructive criticism and plain complaints.

Don't shoot down the other entrants. Rather than asking why people are voting for a certain entry, why not ask why people aren't voting for your own? Find out where you could improve, areas you could have done better.

This. Constructive criticism is one thing; picking a single entry out and not giving any criticism (until the discussion escalated), but instead just sniping at the shot, isn't constructive. It's poor taste and comes across as childish. If you don't like an entry, feel free to explain why you don't like it with your personal reasons, or why you chose another entry over it. Asking in (apparent) disbelief as to how others can possibly vote for it doesn't send any kind of positive message.

It's incredibly disappointing that yet again, another week of polls is marred by petty fights. We all have our own reasons behind voting the way we do. What isn't acceptable is the flat-out baiting I'm seeing in here, and the blatant disregard for the AUP and the swear filters that are put in place for a reason.

This sub-forum is my main home here on GTP, but I'm tired of seeing it torn up by squabbles like this. Warnings, infractions, or worse, will be handed out to the people who don't seem to want to play nice with others. The rules apply to all parts of this site.

Aight, had a good sleep, said what I had to say, Gtuned is in the lead now, I'd be happy to drop the rest of this discussion, hopefully the rest can as well. It still can be a fun competition if we forget all of this and hopefully the rest of the people vote for their favorite entry, not who had the best arguments in this discussion. If I had spoiled any kind of fun or anything so far, I apologize.

And now back to the competition

I've gotten some sleep too and i apologize, Yesterday was a horrible day and i did ask it wrong i see now. I really don't care that im winning after how much of an ass i was acting yesterday.

I made my comments to make a point, and not just with regards to this thread, but a trend that was becoming annoying. I apologize for the tone of my comments.

Quite surprised with the votes this week!
It's a shame you didn't make the poll GPR that's a great pic!
