Then I suggest you take a premium car and a regular car on a photoshoot and compare the differences if you really are so much irritated by the amount of 787bs this week.

Huh? :dunce:

Without being offensive, but there is much more to it than clean surfaces that makes a difference between the two. Premium cars just have more poly counts, and no matter how much work you put into it, a regular car will never look like a premium car without touching the border of it being a vectorized model.

Did you enlarge the photo in question? And just so I'm sure, are you trying to tell me that the Cosmo looks nothing like a premium model?

To be honest, your comments just sound like you dismiss all 787b images because of the same car in every shot. The 787b is a) a fantastic looking LM car, b) Mazdas most known motorsport accomplishment, c) Mazdas most famous rotary powered car.

a) In your opinion.
b) And?
c) So what.

How do any of these points make the overall photo better in any way?

Every single image should be enlarged before any votes are being cast.

Hope people are clicking on the big link!

Every single entry should be judged loose from any other entry. Whether the same car is used over and over again, does not matter. What does matter is how each and every entry compares to one another in terms of technique and overall impression.

Completely contradicting yourself within 5 seconds of original thought. And;

I dont know about you but these competitions in my opinion are never voted for on technical merit. Just personal opinion and the possible bit of favouritism.

Maybe it wasnt clear, but I feel like I am one of the only ones who takes into consideration everything about a photo before voting. Technical skill, artistic merit, subject matter, tone, mood, composition. I look at every photo very carefully. Then in even more detail if I am undecided between two or more entries.

Putting many hours into an entry does not justify it being automatically higher rated than any other entry.

Yes it does. Especially when you take a standard car and make it appear to be a premium model. And in this instance that wasnt why I voted for 80Y. If you'd of bothered to read my 'dismissive comments' you would of seen this;

That Cosmo pic is brilliant in every way. Tone, colour, contrast, composition, (and) the car looks premium for goodness sake! The technical and artistic skill in that picture is nothing short of astounding. He deserves more votes. Way more 👍

I have spent tons of hours reworking GT4 images (see sig), yet I can only recall having won twice in GT4s 2.0 competition. It's a tough thing to be confronted with after using so many hours on a single entry, but that's just how it is.

...

Deal with it.

Did you enlarge the photo in question? And just so I'm sure, are you trying to tell me that the Cosmo looks nothing like a premium model?

Correct. Not sure where the premium bit comes in when I'm viewing the large version. What I'm seeing is a Cosmo with reworked panel gaps. I'm pretty sure PD used their 5 years on more than that.

No, it doesn't. Reworking a standard model does not automatically make an image better. The image in question is just a bit of road with a car on it. Are you trying to tell me that a reworked model makes that image suddenly a whole lot more exiting than the other entries?

Oh I've read you "dismissive" comments alright. To be honest all of them just sound like you're annoyed that many of us used the 787b, which is no reason not to vote for them in the first place, and that the Cosmo deserves a win so much more than the rest just because there was some photoshopping done to it, even though the rest of it is lacklustering.

I think you might want to look up what photography is about, and what to aim for when shooting a photo before you start "dismissing" the rest of the entries.

Looks like it's a clear win for Sam48! Congrats, Sam, in advance!

You're absolutely right.

Can you provide me with a link to your book or website that proves everyone elses opinion but your own is wrong please?

I must learn what photography is about.

Wow! 12 votes and third in the poll! :D Thanks to everyone who voted for me 👍

Well, I agree with Bram.
In the end, it's about opinions anyway, people like different things.

If a picture is shopped more than an other one, that doesn't make it better, at all. It's about the feeling to the picture, doing something to it doesn't always make it better, or make it more.. Important, or something.

The poll is open :D here you can vote the winner of the contest which ended some time ago. Just hit a contest which is open and post your entry there ;)

I think this poll is now closed so Congrats to Andrea, again! :gtpflag:

Thank you for all who voted on my picture, completely shocked I got 12 votes for a none racecar..... :D

Aw man! Sorry for jinxing you, Sam! Congrats to andrea! Three  for you!

*sigh*

I give up :( Nobody is reading anything I say properly at all.

I didnt say that his picture was better because it was shopped. And I didnt say that it deserved more votes because it was shopped. I chose it for its overall tone, colour, composition AND technical skill. I was blown away by all of it, the work done to make it look premium especially.

I'm dropping it now anyway. In my opinion, the right picture didnt win the poll.

I would like to say that everyone did a fantastic job. I actually didn't vote because I was split between about five. Great job, what talent.

Congrats to andrea!

And congrats to Sam and Ferrari_458 for the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

And Captain Roh, I could join that discussion. but I would bring no good arguments to the table. 80Y 2C2's shot was creative and such a unique idea to start with. I do not think that car looks premium, it looks a LOT better than the model does in-game, but not like a premium. The work 80Y put into fixing it up was huge, as was the improvement. Therefore did his entry get my vote.

And about the winner, beauty is as always in the beholder. I do not fully agree with your opinions on why a certain entry should have won, but at the same time, I do kinda understand what you mean.

Finally, another congrats andrea. Looking forward to your theme.

Thanks for congratulating me guys and thanks to everyone who voted for my piece.
