Then I suggest you take a premium car and a regular car on a photoshoot and compare the differences if you really are so much irritated by the amount of 787bs this week.
Huh?
Without being offensive, but there is much more to it than clean surfaces that makes a difference between the two. Premium cars just have more poly counts, and no matter how much work you put into it, a regular car will never look like a premium car without touching the border of it being a vectorized model.
Did you enlarge the photo in question? And just so I'm sure, are you trying to tell me that the Cosmo looks nothing like a premium model?
To be honest, your comments just sound like you dismiss all 787b images because of the same car in every shot. The 787b is a) a fantastic looking LM car, b) Mazdas most known motorsport accomplishment, c) Mazdas most famous rotary powered car.
a) In your opinion.
b) And?
c) So what.
How do any of these points make the overall photo better in any way?
Every single image should be enlarged before any votes are being cast.
Hope people are clicking on the big link!
Every single entry should be judged loose from any other entry. Whether the same car is used over and over again, does not matter. What does matter is how each and every entry compares to one another in terms of technique and overall impression.
Completely contradicting yourself within 5 seconds of original thought. And;
I dont know about you but these competitions in my opinion are never voted for on technical merit. Just personal opinion and the possible bit of favouritism.
Maybe it wasnt clear, but I feel like I am one of the only ones who takes into consideration everything about a photo before voting. Technical skill, artistic merit, subject matter, tone, mood, composition. I look at every photo very carefully. Then in even more detail if I am undecided between two or more entries.
Putting many hours into an entry does not justify it being automatically higher rated than any other entry.
Yes it does. Especially when you take a standard car and make it appear to be a premium model. And in this instance that wasnt why I voted for 80Y. If you'd of bothered to read my 'dismissive comments' you would of seen this;
That Cosmo pic is brilliant in every way. Tone, colour, contrast, composition, (and) the car looks premium for goodness sake! The technical and artistic skill in that picture is nothing short of astounding. He deserves more votes. Way more 👍
I have spent tons of hours reworking GT4 images (see sig), yet I can only recall having won twice in GT4s 2.0 competition. It's a tough thing to be confronted with after using so many hours on a single entry, but that's just how it is.
...
Deal with it.
