I never see you participate any competition...but again, I rarely check GTP until last month..I'm sure you win every single comp!! :D

Haha, sadly I don't always have enough time to enter a bunch of comps each week.. I occasionally chuck an entry into the ring if I really love the theme or if I have an older shot which suits the theme well!

The tournament is a different matter though ;)

There will always be great shots that don't make the cut, simply because these competitions rely solely on the judge using personal preference over basic photography rules. Most of the time anyway.

Photography competitions should be judged by people who have experience in actual photography, not just gamers who use GT5. Since the rules state that the winner judges the next week's competition that is probably an impossible goal to achieve. Only then will there be polls free of personal bias towards a certain car or certain color or technique. Basically in order to have a chance of winning you will need a decent shot that has a car/color/etc combination that the judge personally likes and it will get to the poll. I have seen many entries that do not deserve to be anywhere near the poll.

It's one of the reasons I stopped participating in these competitions, but I still like using the Photomode and I still enjoy seeing the work of GTP members here.

Quite frankly, I don't like the assumption that I do that (as I picked this poll), or, at least in the case of 2.0 Advanced, that that's even that common, as typically, the winners have some experience in real-life photography. The "most of the time" qualifier on the end doesn't change this.

The problem with electing "qualified judges" is that still won't eliminate bias. Not to mention its then the same tastes that need to be satisfied every week. Automotive photography's usually a bit of an odd one, anyways - the rules can be broken a bit easier, simply because of the cars.

I really liked this shot, slightly surprised it didn't make it....:odd:

Thanks dude!
Really appreaciate that even though it didn't get any vote or so. :P

ZEROX - Your's was one of the last two to be cut, buddy! I really liked it too - the definition in the road is eye catching, and the paint on the Enzo is interesting in it's quasi-matte feel. What hurt it was the composition; the other still images better portrayed a sense of "rivalry", and if your cars would've been positioned slightly differently to make more use of the frame, it would've been in for sure :)

Honestly, if it had been Top 20, it would've been a very easy poll to make for me. It was cutting those 5 that really was tough! :indiff:

Thanks Slipz for the feedback!
Really need it from the maestro himself. :D
