The red tinge was just me being lazy. As for the tunnel, the rules did not specify which part of the track to shoot, weather it was well rendered or not is not really my fault because that's how it is in the game. That being said it's still a lot better than 2 or 3 of the choices above in the poll.

So basically the choices made in these competitions are down to personal taste and preference.

Good to know.

Ok well I think if you're happy to admit you were "just being lazy" you perhaps shouldn't feel too aggrieved at not making the poll. As for the poor rendering you are entitled to clean it up if you wish (as others have done). The point I was really trying to get across was that by being 'quantitative' I narrowed the poll down to 30 good entries (yours included). Following on from that I did have to be subjective as I had no choice to do otherwise. This is were your photo fell down for me; its a bit too dark and it lacks the drama of some of the entries that did make it.

You shouldn't take it personally, if it makes any difference, I am confident that your entry would not win had it made it too the poll.

Like race drivers, we never shall give up.👍

I have to say that this should be the spirit with which you enter the comps; sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't; but you should come back the following week with greater determination. You have every right to be disappointed at not making a poll, but being bitter will get you nowhere.

To sum up, I hope you do continue to enter the competitions as I'm sure you have the potential to make the polls. And, if you win and you have to judge the following week, perhaps you'll have a greater appreciation of how difficult it is to please everyone.

👍

Just adding to this - at least for me, the competitions are always just about really challenging yourself, seeing what others can do (and learning, and improving, because of them), and conveniently being provided a theme to shoot for that particular week (as opposed to galleries, where it's all on you). Winning is obviously a nice bonus, but I just like knowing I've done my best each week :)

As for the poll this week - wow, utterly fantastic, and I'm not even a fan of the hyper-TT! It's nice to make the cut, though there are definitely some shots that just completely over-shadow mine, and I'm fine with that, since it's such a good-looking poll :D

Believe it buddy, that is a superb image. One of the best entry changes I have seen.
I do have a question, did you apply a filter of some kind? Has a strange look to it, or was that from sharpening?

Thanks for the votes guys. 👍

I indeed used a filter to obtain this effect. :)
Used the warming filter and set it to around 2 - 2,5. Thats how I did get the bright light at the end of the tunnel. I also barely edited it. Only colour, toning and a bit of sharpening.

But I really think mine can't compete with alot up there. Especially with the editing. There are so many smooth and clean edited pictures up there (yours included!!!). I don't see mine on the same level.....:scared:

But I always try to compensate it with unique pictures that polarize a bit, haha

nearly forgot about this due the Tournament round1!

Thanks so much everyone for the votes.👍
Lot of quality in this week again...

...and nooo, next CCCL will not be with a RuF:P

Congrats bmxmitch - a completely original photo, the composition and lighting is spot on!

Also a special mention for Brad431's photo, which deserved some votes, if not more.

And...

...thanks for all the brilliant entries!
