is very simple. Anything goes as long as it's a portrait shot. Be creative ."

I'm a bit confused regarding the poll choices, but yet again, thats just me.
I wont get into it right now, its hard enough to pick a Top10 and make everyone happy with it.

I really liked your entry very much but in the end there were many good entries and I saw that your entry was un-focused on the car. that's all I can say.

I thought that your entry was good, but maybe if you zoomed in on the car, get less of the ground, and used a lower aperture it could've been better.
Also, I wanted some variety in the poll, and your entry was in the same page as some of the entries in the poll.

When full sized, I saw that all of the car was a bit un-focused. In the end, there were many good entries, and I had to divide them by looking at the flaws and wanted some variety in the poll. So, that's my opinion about these entries. maybe some people don't agree with me it's ok. In the end it's my opinion.

With a lower shutter speed, getting more of the car, and with a better lighting it could've been better in my opinion.
Look at some of the galleries here in the forum, and check the angles and the tactics they use to get better pics.

I'll try that next time, but the reason I made it with less aperture, was because I wanted the looker at-er () to focus on the small details of the car.

Yea, I thoght that But as you see the right site of the kart is blurry, the exhaust too. I would've used F2.0 insteat of F1.0

If the muffler did not come out blurry and a little extra quality to the bricks, then I would see it make the poll possibly.

Part of the outer parts of the car are blurry, matching in with the extremely blurred background. If you focused in on the car, then the background would be the only blurred section. But, I do not see much detail, even if I pictured the car in focus, I do not think it would make the poll either way. Not to let you feel down about it, when it did sound a bit harsh about your entry.

Well if you're the one who chose these for the poll then I don't think you are. Some of your picks are mind boggling. I don't think I am alone in this opinion.

Now now lagunacat, keep it nice. There is no need to get personal here. The polls of all the competitions do come down to the personal preferance of the judge for the week, and yes there are always difference of opinions as to what should have or should not have made the poll as everyone's tastes are different. This is just a fact of life. Boabdulrahman is no 'flash in the pan' judge, though relatively new here himself, he is a multiple winner and already well respected amongst the community here.
At the end of the day this is supposed to be a fun exercise - let's keep it that way please.

EDIT: That said, there is no problem with anyone giving their constructive criticism of others entries as they request it.

Gee I thought I was keeping it nice. There was nothing personal in my comment. I was only giving my opinion on his judging abilities only AFTER a sarcastic comment directed towards me. Not like I went Simon Cowell on him. Look I think there is something inherently wrong with a competition results coming down to a "personal preference". I felt compelled to add my 2¢ after reading some of the members disappointments and frustrations with not making the final poll. I can see why some of them feel that way. I am sure many of them put a lot of thought and time into their entries and frankly don't think it is fair process for them to be rejected because of "personal preference". As an award winning professional of 40 plus years and having taught photography in college I think I am qualified to speak to their frustrations. It is just not fair to them. The only fair way to do a competition like this is let their peers judge who makes the final poll.
