imho every picture should hit the poll, so nobody gets frustrated and everybody can vote for the picture he liked.
That limit for poll-hitting entrys is a big mistake and imo it's kinda silly. I never saw something like that before in a photocompetition. Everywhere all pictures hit poll and not only the pictures somebody choosed...

If the muffler did not come out blurry and a little extra quality to the bricks, then I would see it make the poll possibly.

Thanks mate! I'll keep that in mind.

I apologise lagunacat. It was my fault.
I was already mad before i looked in the thread (because of some things going on in my life), and I continued aiming my anger by replying to you earlier.
It's just that in the end not everyone could be happy with the outcome of the poll. I know sometimes it's not fair, but the rules say that the winner chooses the entries for next week, and this rule was implied for a year now. Actually it was used from the GT4 days too. So, i don't what to say else, and sorry for the earlier comment.

Sorry to single you out lagunacat but as you are a newcomer I felt the need to comment earlier as we have had this conversation a few times over in the past and left unchecked it has gotten a bit nasty. The competitions are run this way because it was found to be the best and most manageable method. Large polls have been tried and found to not work well, in addition administering large polls is very time consuming for the hosts and you often end up with mutli-way ties for the top votes requiring tie-breaker polls. The way we have it works - it's not perfect obviously, but is the best balance for our purposes. Again bear in mind we are only doing this for fun.
Any ideas and suggestions are of course gratefully received and considered - should you have an idea you would like discussed your best bet is to post a comment in this thread.

Nato to the rescue!
thankyou

and to lc imo "only AFTER a sarcastic comment" also applies to post #14

so to be fair...

& I think Fishy Juice said it all

When full sized, I saw that all of the car was a bit un-focused. In the end, there were many good entries, and I had to divide them by looking at the flaws and wanted some variety in the poll. So, that's my opinion about these entries. maybe some people don't agree with me it's ok. In the end it's my opinion.
Thanks for participating :)

Thanks alot Bo (can I name you like that? It's way easier :D)
I totally respect your choice for the poll though! Everyone likes different styles and stuff, thats totally cool. Like this we have many polls with alot of variety and also other members get their chances to get in the poll more often.
Of course my poll would've looked a bit different, but thats why you're judging this week, not me.;)
We all would made some choices others think are not really coherent. Thats part of judging....unfortunately.
I see the same in the BMX scene over and over. There are so many different styles, it's nearly impossible to judge fair. Everytime someone is disappointed because he thought he rode better.
And it's the same here. We all enter to win, so of course we are disappointed when we fail. But it's for fun here, noone gets money or need the wins to reach something.
Thats why we shouldn't get too mad! I think I said enough now....:sly:

Btw, those Entries here all made me drool! excellent work Nato, Tony, Raphaele and SVX! 👍

Perhaps the judging should be limited to people who actually know a thing or two about photography. Nuff said.

That wouldn't work at all. We had this discussion a few times now and it definitely would drag away the fun of winning a comp and choosing your own theme, etc.

Thanks to Mitch and Nato for your wise words.
We all should keep cool and comprehend our competition system as pure fun but also inspiration and enrichment.
Winning a comp like this is different to the game where the fastest or just the most rigorous turns out to be the champ.

I now decided to continue entering these comps though I was in doubt about my photographic skills since I never won a comp (beyond Photoshop PMC) despite entering nearly every comp in every week for exactly one year.

Another wise, experienced and well respected member told me:
"Don't give up just because of a lack of votes.
It took me ages to get my first win back in the GT4 days."

And no, Moglet told me that he hasn't retired from these comps.
"I'm just taking time out."

No worries, no apology necessary. Anyway it seems you have an established system here so I will keep my nose out of it.

Did I say that? I think I said something similar one day.

Wow, really?! Thank you so much

I'm so glad, I would most certainly miss your entries should they disappear from the competitions. You are one of a number of people whose entries I look forward to seeing each week as they are consistantly quality and often innovative. You will win one of these soon, of that I'm certain. :)

Nato, you're too nice!
Thanks to you and several other people who posted or contacted me via PM, I'm optimistically looking forward to this year's upcoming PMCs.

When I compare my entries of early 2011 to my recent ones I must admit that I have learned a lot. Without the challenge of the comps I might have marked time.

And another thing happened:
due to growing skills in "virtual" photography I improved my skills in real photography.
Of course, in real life you have to capture the perfect moment. In GT5, you can stop right there and enjoy. A fine thing for training is the NASCAR pitstop photo travel location where stopping the game isn't possible. Just give it a try…

It's not a game.
It's a simulator.

first and foremost... congrats kaede  nice 1st win!

cool shot - great framming! 👍

-also-
wanted to wait until the end to comment, as not to sway the poll (secret and all)

my vote came down to the cobra or the ferris wheel, what to choose?
i'm never sure, when allowed, wheather to include a car in the shot or not

in my case...

- vs -

what does the voting membership prefer? or does it matter?
i guess this is better a question opened in a forum thred, but it seemed to apply to this comp.
just some thoughts, open to PM's.

lasty - want to thank the judge Boabdulrahman, great job (real diplomacy) ;)

and of course, thanks to all those members who cast thier votes my way :)
