Further explanation of the theme, provided by bmxmitch:

"Show me your most favorite car in either black or white. Choose your background wisely!
I want to see a pic in one of those styles. A bright one with a white car, or a black car
in the dark or with a black background.

Make sure that there are not to many other colors in the pic. B&W pics would do it too, but
they're not necessary. As long as it fits for either, black or white."

I think you tried a bit to hard to achieve the "white" theme.
It is a bit to overexposed for my taste. The hood offers no details and the great tail too.
But believe me, yours wasn't too far away from the poll!

But if you loose fun in the comps, maybe try a gallery to share your pics. This is always nice to get good feedback or such...

I can feel you. Your shot looks pretty nice and fits the theme very well.
BUT......you made one major failure here. (At least for me)
The backlights are cut from the border. That disturbs me pretty much.
Because, those were the only real highlight in your shot. Maybe the exhaust too, but the rest is just out of focus, so you should have focused on the lights a bit more.
Maybe this with a little bit less exposure, and your shot would be perfect.

Yet Gtuned's totally over exposed and completely pixelated entry made it? Its your decision of course but I think dhartley's pic is way better. The detail and tone inside the cockpit alone is quite staggering.


As for being in the poll I thank you. I took a lot of time getting my composition right and making sure not to over expose any detail. I should of just gone as bright as I could judging by the poll votes already

I know what you mean CR - these comps tend to rely on personal choice rather than expertise or skill.

Still, it's all a bit of fun at the end of the day and there's always a very nice shot that ends up winning.

FWIW, I'd hate to judge one of these things - I'd end up choosing what 'floated my boat' personally, which brings me right back to my first point!

The few colours on the chassis distracted me quite a bit. But I'm not really a fan of this mode either, so sorry. My taste simply....

Just my personal taste. I liked it when I first saw it in full view. It has something realistic in it, even though the composion isn't that special.

Thats why judging is so hard. Every picture has its own unique style. Offers something the others can't...
But you can't really compare Gtuned's and dhartley's pics.
Of course they are both overexposed, but Gtuned managed it to still have the details on the car AND get everything white around it. That's pretty unique and special.
Of course dhartley did a great job with the cockpit, but the rest around it simply didn't do it for me. Maybe if the street would've been totally white too....Idk
In the end it's all personal/different tastes.

As my father always used to say: You can't make everyone happy.
