I fixed it - the joys of mod-ship ;).

Still not any closer to deciding who to vote for for the other 3 rounds, though :(

Thanks for those kind words in your review Raphaele 👍 Really appreciated.

To kinda return the gesture I have to admit I struggled to choose between yours and Slipz shots, two very different takes and concepts of the same theme that didn't make it any easier.
The fact is it was so close it came down to a very minor issue of the "watermark" in your entry and I'm sorry that I based my decision on a little thing like that but it slightly detracted :indiff:. Both outstanding shots in their own right though 👍

Funny you say that about the watermark CCS7, I feel the same way. Often when I haven't been able to chose between entries it has come down to the watermark. A minor detail I know but it just shows that tiny bit more effort taken to remove it. It too was a deciding factor with SlipZ and Raph's shots as both are so brilliant. I applaude you Raph for your bold use of mode 1.

Well, interesting thing about the GT5 watermark.
For me this having not removed is my own way as a sort of hommage to PD.
I appreciate their work. Without that we wouldn't have thrilling competitions like this one.

Signatures weren't allowed in the qualifying round only.... they were re-instated after that.

Without being asked I'll add my two cents.
Just my humble opinion...

match 03
Piccadilly vs. Tuscany. Metropolis vs. scenery. Next time Berlin vs. Birmingham? :) When giants meet…
This polarising selection might make it easier to vote because everybody has his very own taste and preference. Both shots are excellent as we are used to by these two talented photographic artists. To me, Moglet's "painting" causes more atmosphere while bmxmitch's is more realistic. Though, he was very brave to chose London – I had expected the alpine scerery of Eiger Nordwand :)

Feel free to disagree – just vote!!!

Thanks for your overall positive review Raphaele. :)

Now I only need 6 more votes! :D

Now that the thread is closed: Review time!

Round 1: Heh, an easy decision! But seriously, Raphaele's image shows something I really regret not using; motion. That was why I had such a bad feeling after submitting - I wanted to use my one reject because it at least had motion! It's a shame we don't have even lower shutter speeds in GT5, as something with those long trails of brake lights is what Raph's shot reminded me of, and it'd be amazing to see those in the game. As it is, still a very cool shot, as it grabs that night-racing feeling so well. Raph's also been a very gracious person to talk to during the competition, so it was great to be up against him!

Round 2: Raph's critique highlights something I did take into consideration; how much the image didn't look like a video game shot. Both do, for different reasons - TDK's pit crew man looks it, while Rev's has the copypasta'd crowd. I really liked the unique, unexpected angle of TDK's, while Rev's was a safer, more colourful shot. In the end, Rev's got my vote, but only just!

Round 3: Two very different approaches! I went with Mitch's on account of the realism; the glare would normally count against a shot, but here, it worked. Not that there's anything at all wrong with Moglet's; like it's been said, it's almost like a painting. Beautiful, but on this day, Mitch's just hit the spot more as I was in a particular mood. I was really looking forward to this match and it did not disappoint 👍

Round 4: Without a doubt the most surprising of the matches, this one is just fantastic! Klaus shot is so crisp, the bright yellow serving as the ultimate focal point, with an aesthetically pleasing line of cars following behind. Other than some minor banding in the vignette effect, it's remarkable how crisp and clear everything is - I know from shooting in the wet for my shot how utterly miserable most of the pixelization can be! CCS7's shot is also a stunner - the ground looks properly wet, with some delicious reflections paired off with the tiny hint of rain in the air. It's cleaned up well too. If 440 CHARGER was around, I'm absolutely positive he would love this shot, as it reminds me very much of his old, hyper-stylized shots. This is a very good thing, CC! My vote just gave the nod to Klaus, although much like above, it came down to my personal preference of the day; ask me next week and I'm not sure I'd vote the same, such is the level of talent on display here.

Time for a rematch with Rev... uh oh.

SlipZ would you be able to do a review like that for the PMC side of the tournament? awesome work 👍

I think Slipz hit it right on target, it depended on my mood of the day.

SlipZ, I loved the entry especially since it was a standard car. The only reason I didn't vote for it was the lack of motion. Both were great, great, GREAT entries.

Pit stop felt like it was lacking motion as well. 1 shot is a tight shot of the tire changer, the other the car was still entering the box.

Moglet, and BMX, brilliant entries. BMW took the different route and that stuck out in my mind.

Let it rain. much like SlipZ said depending on my mood of the day.

Congrats to all who got through, excellent shots this round. Official scores are now accounted, semi-final is up and running, make sure to check your theme. :)

Nice to hear that! Thanks

The "BMW" was on purpose, right?

Thanks to all that voted for my pic and some special thanks to moglet and Fido. Was really fun to compete against you guys and I hope we'll meet in the next Tournament again! ;)
Hopefully I will reach the semi-finals then....

Good luck to all! And moglet, I bet all my money on you now, don't disappoint me! :P

I'm leaving and say goodbye!
It was great fun and thrill to be part of the competition.
Especially considering rivals of that brilliance.
Good luck to the remaining four "musketeers" and thanks to SlipZ for his accurate review.
Looking forward to the next Tour!
