Well, you don't need to. I really hope people won't be searching through galleries to see other peoples entries. In poll, only the direct link will be visible so you won't have to worry in that department.

Already managed it via Imageshack. You should have a PM with my entry in your inbox. So no one will see it until the poll goes up. But one thing confuses me. When we go to poll, there will be a link to a full screen version, right? If so, everyone using their upload service they use for other comps will reveal his identity. That´s a problem we can´t solve. Anyway, I don´t think that people will automatically vote for Moglet, Gtuned, Benmastaw00t and all those guys that submit awesome shots week by week just because they know that this or that pic is made by them.

Actually, if you direct link, it won't show any of that. just the full size image it's self.
And why the hell is my name in there

Pardon me, if I'm being dumb with this question, but how do I direct link from flickr?

Right click, copy image location I think, I don't know if flickr has a different way of doing it.

This is such an annoying theme....It's damn difficult to get a shot that conveys cars preparing to do battle that looks interesting and isn't just a static image of some cars on a grid. :(

EDIT: Infact, unless you've got a friend willing to drive with you it's pretty much impossible to get something interesting and good looking. Will cars already doing battle be accepted?

Okay now that i think about my entry... It shows quite the opposite of battling.. well here's hoping it still gets in.

I thought cars doing battle was part of the theme? Or have I mis-interpreted it?

Probably, because it doesn't work for me...:dunce:
Isn't it OK to enter just with a thumbnail (BBCode) (of course not bigger than 500 pix. on either side)? Nicknamealguem?

It really helps to have a cooperative wife who knows how to drive. All hail Tonille.

Ah, now I know what he meant 💡 - just forget what I said earlier. :ill: I just didn´t know what to imagine under "direct linking".

@JohnnyBravo: It´s like Gtuned explained. Right click on the full screen picture, copy image location and you´re done.

Fully agreed concerning the theme choice. I think it doesn´t matter what the picture shows as long as there are two cars visible fighting for position.

Are you sure about that? Do they have to be fighting for position? I'm just thinking that "ready for battle" could be more than that... Maybe a posing position, a preparing situation, or stuff like that?

Kaede posted a handy walkthrough of how to post preview images that link to full-sizers in last week's PMC thread, and Nicknamealguem also has it all in his stickied thread in this sub-section about Competitions. You don't have to look far.

While it isn't explicitly stated in the OP, everyone should also note this: when uploading your image, avoid an identifiable filename too. Actually, Nick, perhaps everyone should name there's the same specific name? That'd make it even easier :P.

I'll leave that one up to Nick.

Oh, I'm donating a gift to whoever happens to be behind the top-voted images in each category of the qualifier. Those two people will receive a gift car tuned by me :)

^^I should add this to the prizes list.

Concerning the theme, the title reads ready for battle, but in reality, you just need to convey that battle feel between two or more cars. It doesn't have to be from the starting line (I don't think I restricted to that).

Concerning images and direct links, just read the sticky and you'll be fine. Remember, photos must be P.M.ed and not submitted in thread.

You can only change your entry if and only if I say so - this would only happen to entries that strictly don't follow the theme, have a signature in it or are edited (behind PMC rules, if your entering PMC).

About borders, yes they are allowed in 2.0, just not signatures.

Move further away from the vehicles and zoom in. Mess about with the aperture a little and you should be able to get the cars in focus and the background blurred as the focal length increases.

It's a handy way to shoot action from afar too, allowing you to pick out certain cars while blurring others without losing detail on the subject.

EDIT: Just realised you may have meant motion blur, not actual blur. If you want 2 cars in full detail while retaining a sharp motion blur you need to make sure the cars are heading in the exact same direction at the same speed! Other than that, there's no way of doing it. Focusing on one car and using a 1/60 shutter speed to get motion blur will always blur any cars around you as they're moving in different directions at different speeds.

Sorry, yeah I meant a motion blur! That's too bad,I might be able to do this with a fancy angle by taking two shots (one with motion blur, other at 1/8000) and place the cars from 1/8000 onto it. But I can't do that here as that uses more than one image. :grumpy: Thanks though, I guess I'll have to settle for a not-quite-as-exciting angle. ;)👍

You can transfer the motion wheels from a motion image to a non motion image. At least we used to do that with GT4. Then, just add PS motion blur. That if, you are entering the 2.0 side.

This battle thing is harder then I thought!
I have to make it to the next round, think dennis, think!!

so the deadline is in septemper... thats a long time lol
