Colin McRae (1968-2007) Tribute Event - Suzuka 750 :15s 20/9

Great video 👍 And yeah, Dragonistic was drifting like a demon too, pretty impressive! Disappointed my internet was messing up last night, would have loved to have been a part of it.

Is this event finished or is it on today aswell ? (Just A suggestion I think It should be A weekend tribute to Colin McRae ?)

Great video, glad i could be the star :) 👍

@ Hyper, yes i do use a pad, you'll have to wait til later today for my set up because im going out.

@Fuzzy, it was originally a one off, but it seemed extremely popular, perhaps for next week i'll start a new event at the same time each week for drifting (AWD or RWD), or cruising, or whatever :)

Right ok no problem 👍

I'm afraid it ended last night as far as I know, not sure how long it lasted as I had to host a cruise on GTA (which failed rather annoyingly). If i get the support I'll host a 'drive what you're brung' style event every week at the same time, just for something different to racing all the time.

I was a lot of fun out there. I just caught the tail end of the meeting, but still had a ton of fun. I just wish more people could have seen some of my drifts. I started out pretty uncomfortable with the car (never driven the older STi before), but after about 7 laps, I was drifting around every corner with ease. Great stuff.

BTW, I'm using a wheel (DFGT), no aids, 499pp car (put me at the front of the pack every time:sly:).

I like using underpowered cars to drift. You really have to thrash them to get anything out of them. Makes for an incredibly visceral experience. I'll be on a bit later if anyone wants a drift session. Might try out some new AWD's. Message me if you want to have some fun.

BTW, I think various drifting/cruize style events would be a great idea. No rules. No winner, no loser, just sideways fun with friends. A theme every week would make things interesting. All Ferrari's, or all AWD's, or tributes to motorsport heroes (like Collin), etc....

Thank you. 👍

Basically (incase you didnt know) drifting the AWD cars you use much more throttle i usually have it near flat on the actual turn, likely laying off on direction changes to control speed. You also need much less countersteer, which is often why i had all 4 tyres smoking round turns, because the fronts need to be struggling for grip to, you can even steer the opposite to countersteer to control your angle, which is much less effective in RWD cars. Use the handbrake to extend your slides when you can't use the throttle, and keep practicing :)
