College football is either nearing the midpoint or surpassing the midpoint. This is where the contenders begin to step up and share the spotlight. This is where struggling teams know they still have a chance to make plenty of noise. This past week saw Houston return to the Top 25, Tennessee overrate Georgia, Virginia and Duke winning big respectively, #2 Villanova in FCS going down at #5 New Hampshire, #1 Grand Valley State going down at Hillsdale in Division 2, and Florida winning at LSU in near improbable fashion. But all of this was last week. What about this one? It's time to step up with confidence and make a statement- one down at a time.

This Week's Football Schedule
FBS: TUE - SAT
FCS: THU and SAT
Division 2: THU and SAT
Division 3: SAT only

--- NFL Focus ---
Since I fell asleep and didn't have a chance to make a formal report, I'll go RAPID FIRE. You may know what the score was if you seen me talk about my Texans last night. I'll get to that score and others. College players, these NFL teams might need your help, especially for the losing teams:

* Houston Texans at Arizona Cardinals (28-21; ARIZONA CARDINALS) <<< "one yard short" for the Texans. Yay.
* Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (16-13; Cincinnati Bengals)
* Cleveland Browns at Buffalo Bills (6-3; Cleveland Browns)
* Washington Redskins at Carolina Panthers (20-17; CAROLINA PANTHERS)
* Pittsburgh Steelers at Detroit Lions (28-20; Pittsburgh Steelers)
* Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs (26-20, OT; Dallas Cowboys) <<< KC dressed up in Dallas Texans outfits
* New England Patriots at Denver Broncos (20-17, OT; DENVER BRONCOS) <<< Denver's 5-0, but need to burn those ugly yellow/black uniforms!
* Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Ram (28-10; Minnesota Vikings) <<< MIN 5-0, STL 0-5
* Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers (45-10; Atlanta Falcons)
* Oakland Raiders at New York Giants (44-7; NEW YORK GIANTS)
* Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans --- SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL --- (31-9; Indianapolis Colts)

Welcome to the new week, GTPlanet!

Time to start thinking about Heisman candidates as well,they will need to start shining.

Any picks for the Heisman yet ?

Tonight, you can see Arkansas State head into Louisiana-Monroe as the Red Wolves take on the ULM Warhawks. I'll have results of this Sun Belt game in my next report.

Sixty minutes, four quarters, two teams, one winner. Buckle up because college football is taking you for a ride!

--- Division FBS Scores ---
The only game on this night is in the Sun Belt conference. I completely missed it, but I'm not going to miss out on letting you know who won. So let's do this.

Monroe, Louisiana - Two Sun Belt Teams Get Face Time in Louisiana
* Arkansas State {Red Wolves} at Louisiana-Monroe {Warhawks}
What do these two schools have in common? Well, among a few other things, Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe have had some nicknames involving Native American Indian nicknames. Arkansas State was known as the Indians, and they are now the Red Wolves. Louisiana-Monroe used to be the Indians, and they are now the Warhawks. So it's time to find out who got it done on Tuesday night. Louisiana-Monroe defended home turf quite nicely on this night. (16-10; LOUISIANA-MONROE)

FCS begins Thursday and continues on Sunday; Division 2 begins on Thursday and goes into Saturday; Division 3 takes place on Saturday

That's all for this post. Thank you for reading. It's not just another insignificant game tomorrow night... it's Boise State AT Tulsa. Boise State's BCS hopes may well be on the line when the blue and orange of Boise State play at the blue and gold of Tulsa. Find out who takes victory when my report is complete. Until next time, so long everyone!

Remember that tonight is a BIG night as Boise State will play at Tulsa. BSU's status as unbeaten is on the line against the Golden Hurricane. Will the Golden Hurricane have enough wind strength to blow away Boise State? Find out in my report later tonight or early tomorrow morning!

Also, I've decided on a GAME OF THE WEEK. After many SEC games as big matches, I'm going to nominate the Oklahoma vs. Texas (Red River Shootout/Rivalry) as my GAME OF THE WEEK. Oklahoma will need to win this game and run the table if they are to have any chance of playing for a National Championship. It's crucial to Oklahoma, but Texas still has to prove itself once again to their hated rivals from Norman.

That's all. Thanks for reading!

Time passes by VERY fast. We're already midway through October. A big match is coming up tonight as Boise State heads into Tulsa with their unbeaten streak on the line. Find out who won as they were the only ticket in town tonight.

--- Division FBS Scores ---

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Boise State Tries to Survive Mother Nature in Maintaining an Unbeaten Season
* #5 Boise State {Broncos} at Tulsa {Golden Hurricane}
Welcome to northeastern Oklahoma and Tulsa University. The Golden Hurricane is bound to put up a fight with intense winds, hoping to blow away Boise State. There's no question the Boise State Broncos are talented, but HOW talented is what keeps most people up late at night deciding how great this team really is and how well it can hang with bigger, more powerful schools. Tulsa held off Boise State early in the 1st Quarter, but the Broncos would survive Mother Nature by picking up a big win. (28-21; #5 Boise State)

FCS Begins Thursday and continues on Saturday; Division 2 begins Thursday and goes into Saturday; Division 3 begins Saturday

The Wednesday report is complete. Teams that improve to 6-0 this week are now Bowl Eligible. Expect to see my 2009 postseason thread to come along at some point. Until next time, take care!

It looks like the ESPN match will be #8 Cincinnati at #21 South Florida. Michael Wilbon ripped Cincy's chances of playing in a BCS bowl, noting how soft the Big East his and even went as far as saying that TCU and Boise State are better than Cincinnati. Well, we'll see if the Bearcats will take down South Florida tonight. All this and other Thursday night action to come!

The weekend is coming. It's time for some of the first few games to set us up for Saturday.

--- Division FBS Scores ---

Tampa Bay, Florida - Sunshine State Ready to Rain on Cincinnati
* #8 Cincinnati {Bearcats} at #21 South Florida {Bulls}
This is a battle between two former Conference USA schools. Both teams felt they can compete on a grander stage, so both joined the Big East. The Bearcats are thinking of making a return to the BCS bowls. They can keep things that way with a win at South Florida. The Bulls weren't tough enough to tame the Bearcats. (34-17; #8 Cincinnati(

--- Division FCS Scores ---

Baltimore, Maryland - Bears of Morgan State Ready to Brand the Bison from Washington, D.C.
* Howard {Bison} at Morgan State {Bears}
The Bison of Howard University aren't exactly the kings of the MEAC. Morgan State isn't either, but the Bears will do all they can to win. Even I went on ESPNU's Facebook page and said Morgan State would win by two touchdowns. Morgan State put up two touchdowns while all Howard can do is put up one. (14-7; MORGAN STATE)

--- Division 2 Scores ---
Only two games were played. Time to find out who all won.

* Delta State at #2 North Alabama (34-24; #2 NORTH ALABAMA)
* Virginia Union at Virginia State (31-3; Virginia State)

Division 3 begins only on Saturday

That's all for this report. Thanks for reading. Please take care and may God bless all of you!

Get ready! Friday night lights coming your way as an appetizer to Saturday's big matches!

NOTE: RAPID FIRE for all scores here.

--- Division FBS Scores ---
* Pittsburgh at Rutgers (24-17; Pittsburgh)

FCS resumes Saturday; Division 2 resumes Saturday; Division 3 begins Saturday

This may be Saturday morning as of this post, but I hope you enjoy a game this weekend! Going to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Houston, but I don't think I'll be heading into any games today.

Here are a few highlights from me here...

* #15 Nebraska failed miserably at home against unranked Texas Tech
* Michigan upsets (yeah, right...) Delaware State with convincing beat down
* Notre Dame fails to USCal... again.
* Florida taken to the limit and came out strong on a late field goal
* Offensive snoozer sees the Golden Hat remaining in Austin as Texas beats Oklahoma
* #7 Ohio State loses on the road at Purdue
* Iowa is STILL unbeaten.

Right now, I'm watching #22 South Carolina at #2 Alabama on ESPN. Full report to come... when it's done.

This must feel like a nightmare for Oklahoma fans, 3rd loss of the season and losing their Heisman QB. Speaking of him, I wonder what this is doing to his NFL stock, he may go undrafted(or in the late rounds).

Ohio State lost...to an unranked team, that made my day.

The Michigan victory was pretty hollow, I mean ya they won but still they should have won by that much, if not more. Next weekend will be a pretty good game against Penn State.

Ohio State lost...to an unranked team,

Yes we did !!!!!

7th ranked Buckeyes traveled to West Lafayette Indiana in hopes of closing in on a shot for the National Championship and to keep pace with the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions for a shot at the Big 10 title.It was not meant to be.The Boilermakers of Purdue handed O.S.U. their 2nd loss of the season winning by a score of 26-18.The loss pretty much took the Bucks out of National Championship contention.O.S.U. still has their eyes focused on the Big 10 title though.It's going to require some help,Iowa and Penn State both need to get knocked off for it to happen.

Michigan destroys Delaware State 63-6,as well they should have.Big Blue remains in contention for a shot at the Big 10 title. They too need some help along the way if they want to reach that landmark.

11th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes remain focused in their quest for a National Championship shot,and the Big 10 titlle as they took it on the road to Camp Randall Stadium,Madison Wisconson.Trailing by 10 points,the Hawkeyes put it together and put up a 20 spot to get out of Wisconsin and remain unbeaten,Iowa 20-10 over Wisconsin.This win helps to solidify their shot of the Big 10 title.

14th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions played host to the traveling Minnesota Golden Gophers in State College Pa. The Lions pitched a shutout over the Gophers and win 20-0.They too helped themselves in their shot for the Big 10 title.

Indiana hands Illinois yet another loss. Indiana 27-14 over The fighting Illini.

Michigan State tops the Wildcats of Northwestern 24-14

As usual,for the the best coverage in the happenings of the Big 10,check out the Big 10 Network.

Michigan won't even get close to the Big 10 title, they are to inconsistent this year.

You've probably heard "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus a few times. You know, butterflies flying away and playing her song. Well, there's a party in the USA alright, and the only music filling the air is the screaming fans, the marching band, the players ready to tackle each others' brains out, the coaches cursing out whoever, and things like that. No butterflies in this report. And no Miley Cyrus either, even though this is a song of hers I actually like. Secretly. Okay, enough about me. Let's see who all won.

--- Division FBS Scores ---
The GAME OF THE WEEK is in Dallas. I thought the new Cowboys Stadium was going to be used, but we're back at the Cotton Bowl.

Dallas, Texas - Mid-South Pride on the Line
* #20 Oklahoma {Sooners} at #3 Texas {Longhorns} --- GAME OF THE WEEK ---
The battle for Mid-South pride begins Saturday afternoon under mostly sunny skies. The sun hasn't shone too brightly on Oklahoma as the Sooners are looking for a big win to propel themselves up the rankings. Texas dropped down to #3, but the Longhorns still have a case that they should be #1. Despite Texas' inability to really get anything going offensively, they still managed to get a win. The Golden Hat will remain in Austin.

FINAL:
#20 Oklahoma - 13
#3 Texas - 16

Now let's move on to other matches. We go from appetizer to main courses.

Ann Arbor, Michigan - Wolverines Play Target Practice With Some Hornets
* Delaware State {Hornets} at Michigan {Wolverines}
Hosting Appalachian State didn't work well two years ago. The Wolverines will try to get their offense going when they host Delaware State. Delaware State University is a MEAC school and is the only(?) HBCU (historically-black colleges and universities) in Delaware. The Hornets are buzzing around the Big House thinking upset. [COLOR"Orange"]After some sad losses in the past this season, Michigan will gladly take this win in hopes they can beat up on other teams as bad as they did in this match. (63-6; MICHIGAN)

South Bend, Indiana - The Legendary Power from the West Meets a Legendary Midwestern Power
* #6 USCal {Trojans} at #25 Notre Dame {Fighting Irish}
In one of the most unique rivalries in college football, the cardinal and gold will play against the blue and gold of Notre Dame. The Trojans are ready to head into South Bend to either slap around Notre Dame... or get slapped around BY Notre Dame. At least that's what the Fighting Irish would GLADLY do to USCal. They'll have to wait until next year as Notre Dame fails... again... to USCal. (34-27; #6 Southern California)

Tuscaloosa, Alabama - If the Gamecocks Can Stun Mississippi, Can They Stun Alabama in THEIR House?
* #22 South Carolina {Gamecocks} at #2 Alabama {Crimson Tide}
NASCAR at Charlotte was on ABC, so this was the match on ESPN Saturday Night. The Gamecocks are thinking upset, while lots of Crimson Tide fans are hungry for fried Gamecock meat. The Gamecocks had a chance to win, but didn't make enough strides to pull off any kind of late heroics. (20-6; #2 ALABAMA)

Auburn, Alabama - Kentucky Wildcats Ready to Roar Louder Than Tigers
* Kentucky {Wildcats} at Auburn {Tigers}
All about Auburn. Auburn, Alabama is home to one of the proudest pack of kittens anywhere. The Auburn Tigers are ready to bite into 2-3 Kentucky. But the Wildcats are ready to go wild on Auburn. I got confused a lot hearing of Auburn's Wildcat offense against... the Kentucky Wildcats. Time to see if I can make FoolKiller happy with good news. Kentucky finally solved the puzzle known as the Auburn Tigers. My mother was a teenager when Kentucky last won against Auburn. (21-14; Kentucky)

DID YOU KNOW...
...that Kentucky has never beaten Auburn since 1968(?) prior to this victory?

West Lafayette, Indiana - Boilermakers Would Love to Overrate Ohio State
* #7 Ohio State {Buckeyes} at Purdue {Boilermakers}
Welcome to West Lafayette, Indiana. The boys from Purdue University are ready to bedazzle Ohio State in black and gold goodness. The Boilermakers will make their case known to the boys from Columbus, Ohio. After the Michigan Wolverines were done cleaning up their outfits from eviscerating Delaware State, they kicked back and hoped Ohio State got a dose of reality from Purdue. You know the scenes when a pretty lady is tied to train tracks with an advancing train set to hit her (unless a hero comes along)? Well, Ohio State got run over by the Boilermakers. There was no hero in this one. (26-18; PURDUE)

Gainesville, Florida - Gators Ready to Chomp Into Some Hogs
* Arkansas {Razorbacks} at #1 Florida {Gators}
The Gators had a close shave in taking down the Razorbacks of Arkansas (13-10; #1 FLORIDA)

Boulder, Colorado - Kansas Ready to Dance With Some Buffaloes
* #17 Kansas {Jayhawks} at Colorado {Buffaloes}
Beautiful Folsom Field, but an ugly night for the Jayhawks as they fell against the Colorado Buffaloes. (34-30; COLORADO)

Atlanta, Georgia - Tech Will Win, but Virginia's Tech or Georgia's Tech?
* #4 Virginia Tech {Hokies} at Georgia Tech {Yellow Jackets}
The Yellow Jackets stung Virginia Tech hard in an epic struggle. The Hokies couldn't fight back hard enough to defend their top 5 ranking. (28-23; #19 GEORGIA TECH)

New Orleans, Louisiana - Cougars Play Football Against Struggling Tulane
* #23 Houston {Cougars} at Tulane {Green Wave}
You have to feel for Tulane and all the struggles they've put forth, but the Green Wave were taken for a ride they want to forget. The Cougars were too much after the first half. (44-16; #23 Houston)

I was trying to do more scores, but failed to complete my report overnight. So I'll breeze through these scores.

--- RAPID FIRE ---
* Texas A&M at Kansas State (62-14; KANSAS STATE)

That's it for this post! Winners and losers coming up.

Time for winners and losers. It may be very late, but I'll share some wins and losses. But first, tell me your biggest wins and losses from this week, including from games like these:

Notable Wins and Losses This Week
* #15 Nebraska fails to show up against Texas Tech.
* Texas wins in unimpressive fashion, but win nonetheless.
* Colorado stuns #17 Kansas.
* USCal leaves Notre Dame with a win.
* Virginia Tech falls hard at Georgia Tech in a upset.
* New Hampshire upsets #2 Villanova last week, then get upset themselves (as #4 team) at Masschusetts
* Hillsdale upsets another team after upsetting (then) #1 Grand Valley State. This time, #23 Northern Michigan.
* Mississippi College knocks off #3 Mary Hardin-Baylor.

My UPSET OF THE WEEK is...
...#1 Abilene Christian losing to West Texas A&M!

The circle of life. A win for West Texas A&M in this Texas showdown. Sucks to be #1 and go down, doesn't it?

My OWNAGE OF THE WEEK is...
...Morrisville State OWNED 67-0 to Rowan!

The gridiron needed to be cleaned up after Morrisville State got splattered by Rowan.

I'm sorry this was all rather late. No music video this time. Next week's thread to come... when it's done! Take care, everyone!

Michigan won't even get close to the Big 10 title

I wouldn't say that ........

Look at your upcoming schedule :

Penn State - (home) , toughest game you'll have.PSU is vulnerable. (?)
Illinois - (on the road) , should be a blowout for Blue. (W)
Purdue - (home) , should be a win ? If your guys show up,God knows,OSU didn't. (W)
Wisconsin - (on the road) , with your offense and Wisconsins defense,you should make it out of Camp Randall ok. (W)
Ohio State - (home) , here's inconsistant,which OSU team will show up,the good one or the marginal one. (?)

Calling 3 wins and 2 unsure

OSU's schedule :

Minnesota - (home) , should not be a problem,possibly a close game. (W)
New Mexico State - (home) , should be a cakewalk. (W)
Penn State - (on the road) , I don't think OSU will be happy in Happy Valley. (L)
Iowa - (home) , Hawkeyes are damn good,they seem to get it done somehow. (L)
Michigan - (on the road) , see above. (?)

Calling 2 wins , 2 losses , and 1 unsure

PSU's schedule :

Michigan - (on the road) , PSU not overpowering , outcome could go either way. (?)
Northwestern - (on the road) , shouldn't be a problem (W)
Ohio State - (home) , possibly a close game , looking for PSU to pull it out though. (W)
Indiana - (home) , PSU without too much of a problem. (W)
Michigan State - (on the road) , Believe it or not , I'm calling an upset. (L)

Calling 3 wins , 1 loss , 1 unsure

Iowa's schedule:

Michigan State - (on the road) , This could be a classic upset. (L)
Indiana - (home) , will bounce back and beat the Hoosiers. (W)
Northwestern - (home) , easy win over the Wildcats. (W)
Ohio State - (on the road) , look for a Hawkeye win,pending which OSU team shows up. (W)
Minnesota - (home) , possibly coming off a very possible big win,they will be pumped up, (W)

Calling 4 wins and 1 loss

By my guess,Iowa should win the Big 10 outright.We are well aware of how college football works though.It will be very interesting down the stretch in the Big 10.A Michigan win over PSU would really help to level the field,and somebodyto knock off Iowa would really open the doors for the quest of the Big 10 title.Pending who can knock off who and win the big one.Joey,your Wolverines are really in the hunt.

I called on Michigan State to play the role of spoiler twice.2 upsets,1 over PSU and 1 over Iowa.
