Japanese cars are way better advanced in technolgy than american cars. Japanese engines push out more horses plus save more gas, and more reliable for its small size. 240 horse non-turbo, none- supercharge out of a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine, thats smart. what american car can compare to that?

240HP all the way at the wheezy end of 8,000rpm? Not much good in rush hour traffic, is it? Want to know what does feel good in traffic? 240 lb-ft at 2,500rpm from a 4.6L V8. What Japanese car can compare to that?

When you compare cars, you must compare them to specific class, exmaple, Engine size: You cant compare a 5.0 engine to a 2.0.

So why are you?

American cars are powerful muscle cars, but they have to have Big engines that waste alot of gas. We only have 90 years of Fuel on the planet. Time to be smart, why you think Ford Bought the idea of Hybrid cars from Honda?

I'll be the first one to vote against SUVs, but don't get that confused with cars "waste alot of gas". Modern SUVs aren't the gas guzzlers from 20 years ago. They may not be Prius-thrifty, but considering their bulk....

30 years ago, we had "20 years of oil" left, and while it's going to run out someday, that day is probably further than most people think. As for Ford buying the hybrid idea...I'm sorry; that's just and absurd idea. I can't even come up with something witty enough to counter it.

Japanese cars might be a lil less in power but their Idea and concept of their cars is far smarter. Japanese are Taxed higher for bigger engines do to its a small country.
Imagine if japan was as big as america, Thier cars would be diffent. Their Hondas are ecomony cars, in a small country you must be smart and go ecomony cars.

The Z s were the cool cars from japan. 240Z 280Z 300Z these cars all rocked
But they were often overshadowed by american cars like the mustang vette gto cutlas . In canada we had lots of Zs around but everyone wanted a mustang or a capri when I was a teenager . Well my friends and I all piled into a mini and that was our sports car. Back then if we had a car at all we were lucky!!

Xleezardx- engines pushing 280hp out of a 1.3L stock, now that's power.

192hp per liter. Gotta love Rotary power.

And that was with the Japanese Twinturbo RX-7 RZ, the RX-8 is 250hp and it's N/A, that's nearly the same power the US 3rd gen RX-7s made with the twinturbo. You can only imagine what kind of power is possible from the Renesis rotary engine.

Gil, my dad had and autocrossed an Opel GT back in the '70s...him and my mom even made an Opel rug, which is hanging in my room(one of the few non-Mazda things in my room). Cool cars, my dad shouldn't have sold it.
