I am an idiot.

Started smoking a bit today :/ Only two, but it makes me feel rather crap that I did at all; I don't want to start spending my money on cigarettes because I feel the need for them.

HALP.

Your not addicted dont buy them, i say that to alot of people everyday, coming up to my mate 'eere bud gizza smoke im strunng ouhhh" , grrr, there not addicted atall atall.

So. Then. Stop.

No one can make you. You have to want to. If you don't want to, all the talking in the world won't change your mind.

I know, I know...

The thing is, I like the feeling enough to want to but I don't want to get addicted and wind up having to pay for these damn cancer sticks :/

Welcome to nicotine. Run away and never return.

Sound like a similar position to me. Like one every now and then without being addicted. Unless you start needing one, I wouldn't be worried. Only you can stop it, if you want to stop, you will. I was a bit like you, thought I wanted to stop, then realised that actually I quite like one now and then. I'm not heavy, can go a month without buying a pack, a fortnight without smoking at all.

There's a difference between buying your own and having one when someone offers you one. Out of interest, what were you smoking?

Don't worry about it, if you only have one occasionally it shouldn't be a problem, when it becomes more frequent is when start to go out of your way to get them. I wouldn't say I'm addicted but I gave my pack to my friend on saturday and he wouldn't give them back so yesterday I bought a pack of reds with part of my gas money. If you really can't find a way to stop a bad experience seems to do the trick. I had three yesterday and the third one made me sick, right now even the smell makes me uncomfortable. I can't say this feeling is going to last long but its kept me from having one today.

As you know I'm pretty much just starting, and I'm doing a bad job of keeping it under control too, so I wouldn't take my advice full on, you gotta figure out what you want and go by that.

I have a pretty strong feeling coming from nowhere that he has smoked marijuana.

We are in similar conditions, RJ, though if I'm well informed, you are slightly more screwed than I am. A beer and a tequila don't compare to two cigarettes if I'm right. If I'm wrong, that will make you feel better. :P

As some have said already, "quit" while you are at it. 👍 It's the best advice I can give you as a fellow south hemisphere habitant.

My confession is...
The other day while the wife and kids were out I decided to look at a bit of porn on the net, during the session, my phone rang and because my house is a blackspot for a signal I had to go upstairs (for better signal) to talk. So I paused the video, and took the call upstairs.

During the conversation with my m8 I had the urge to go for a poo!

While sat on the bog, I heard my wife come home. I totally forgot about the video on pause downstairs, and she come upstairs to confront me about why I'm looking at porn and something about she had to close the page before the kids saw it.

Then she went on to say, "Anyway, what you doing in there?!?"

While I was finishing my poo, I had to think of an excuse fast! The only thing I could come up with was.... "The lads at work want me to download some porn for them". Obviously she didn't believe me and she told me she wanted an explanation after the kids have gone to bed. She's forgotten, thank God!

So yeh, pretty embarrasing

You see, men can't multi-task!

I had three yesterday and the third one made me sick

Literally? Or "I'm being super dramatic and it made me sick"?

Don't see why it should make you sick, my Marlboro Red's very occasionally make me light headed.

Marlobro red's are a goth stereotype where I live, well sort of, when I used to get the odd smoke I liked them, but down here it's johnny blues and mayfair.

Mayfair are Good For Jo.., Baha, I wouldn't know what their like... Does anyone know where these are from, my mate bought them off a mate of a mate who was selling sleeves.

Close to it. It's not that it was bad, I think they're great, it was just a combination of things at the wrong time. I had just got out of class, was working on my car in the wicked hot Florida sun, and was very hungry/thirsty. I figured I'd have one while I was waiting for my friend but as I started it the taste just didn't agree with my mouth, I just couldn't finish it. The rest of the day until I ate I couldn't get rid of the taste and I felt sick. I have no idea where that came from because earlier in the day I loved the taste.

I'm still kind of at a crossroads of what I like and don't like. I know I don't like menthols anymore, and regular cigs taste like raisins to me before you light it. My friend had some Blend 54's and I can't remember how they tasted, but I remember thinking they were good, I'll have to bum one off him sometime.

The first full smoke most people have(if your what 12-15) makes you white, is what we call it, you go pale and get a sick feeling in your stomach. Like being green but not as worse.

For some reason, whenever I even smell cigarettes, I just about throw up. Unfortunately, that makes it really hard to go to bars.

Wait for it...

The first time I ever fully inhaled one I thought my friend had laced it, the nicotine rush was closely similar to something else I had tried earlier this summer.

Um, cigarettes and spliff's are very different. The spliff you tried probably wasn't that strong.

On the contrary, I wont go into detail because of the AUP but I'll just say it took a good 3 hours until I could start to think.

I know they're VERY different, but at the time I had no idea cigarettes gave you such a large rush (at least it did for me) and the only thing I could slightly compare it to was an extremely dulled down "spliff". That's a funny name for it, I had to look it up, lol.

Oh aye, there's a definite rush from cigarettes, vary huge on what you smoke too. Most people wouldn't smoke if it didn't give you a rush. Very different type of rush too, not sure if I could delve further in to that with the AUP though?

I disagree, I find it more calming than a rush.
I used to use them to moderate my mood, which it quite bad really...

Was it H or W you had in the spliff?

H or W?

Looking up better definitions there was no tobacco in what I had at all. I think any further conversation should go to pm, or better yet off site. I don't know how far the mods would let this kind of conversation go, but I'd rather not be the one to find out.
