Confused about Fanatec Quick Release system

Any clarification here would be appreciated as I am close to pulling the trigger on a GT DD Pro but want the older CSL P1 wheel as it is larger and simpler than the standard wheel. I understand there was/is an issue with wheels "sliding" off the mount and disconnecting the little USB-C inside the wheel base unit. Fanatec's solution is a new QR system called QR2 where you need both a base side and wheel side male and female QR connectors. This is clear to me and sounds good but expensive.

My confusion is did all wheels/bases come with Quick Release 1 or can the wheel be hard locked/attached to the base without QR1? I do not foresee myself needing to change wheels very often so being able to quickly change is not an issue. In summary, the new bases come with QR2, the wheel I want does not have QR2, am I obliged to purchase the wheel side QR2 for this wheel or can I run the wheel without a QR?

Thanks

CSL steering wheel P1 V1 does not have replaceable QR.
On CSL steering wheel P1 V2 the QR is replaceable.
Which of the two do you mean?

I would be getting the V2 wheel.

Can I play without a QR at all? I've never seen a Fanatec wheel base, like does it go hard connection > QR1 > QR2 or is the baseline QR1?

The steering wheel must have QR, it cannot do without it.
When you go to the page of the wheel base you want the picture should show with what QR it is.
Give me a link to the page of the base you want.

Thanks, this is the answer I was after. So if my new base (GT DD Pro 8nm) comes with QR2 i will need to include a QR2 for the wheel I want, I cannot just remove the QR and hard attached via screws or bolts.

I get it now, thanks mate.

EDIT: I thought I got it but now just noticed I need the QR2 Lite as the wheel I am interested in is an older CSL one. So if I want a newer wheel one day I will need the regular QR2, not the lite ..... this basically adds $100CDDN to the cost of the P1 V2 wheel as i would not be able to use the QR2 Lite on future wheels.

Could this be any more convoluted?
