@Speedster911 R3E stands for RaceRoom Racing Experience

I don't think it would be a good idea to release AC on consoles...in the state the game is right now I just don't see it happening.

After a few years of open beta testing, masked as a full price release on PC, the final version will be released on consoles.

We'll see what happens with Project Cars, which is far, far deeper and more feature complete than AC is at the moment. If it takes off then I'm sure AC will give some consideration to taking the leap.
I'm confident Pcars will be a success on console especially if it gets exposure (a few adds on tv etc) mainly because of its eye candy

Well that clearly isnt going to happen right now, In the vidoe posted one of their main issues seams to be lack of steering wheels for the X1 and ps4

EDIT: I'm gonna guess that resources are currently a factor in a console version too

Eye candy? It's graphics are only marginally better than GT6, and in some cases worse. If you want eye candy play Driveclub. Project CARS isn't great because of it's graphics.

I absolutely agree. There's no eye-candy material in PCARS to be found on console versions, not the X1 version at least. Aside from sharp-looking cars and tracks and some neat weather effects, the game is bland and keeps the focus on motorsport/racing mostly, where it should be.

GT6 in fact, has noticeably better visuals, compared to PCARS on consoles.

Drive Club is a good example of eye candy for sure. So is Horizon 2 and Forza 5. 👍

Humm not sure what versions of those games you are playing. Or maybe it is about the screen? On a monitor pCARS looks way better than GT6 in terms of overall image sharpens. Both can produce quite stunning visual moments, but that’s only in certain conditions. With the upcoming patch that will increase the mipmap distance and reduce ghosting, pCARS will definitely look better.

BTW I just necroed this thread as a joke. How did we come to discuss pCARS vs GT6 is beyond me lol.

GT6 has noticably better looking car models up close, but the tracks aren't as detailed. Also CARS has better textures and effects, especially weather, but next to DC it looks last gen. My point was it won't become a huge success because of it's visuals, as they aren't exactly standard-setting for current gen. It'll be a success for it's physics mostly, but also the offline career and AI once the bugs are sorted.

For enjoying amazing graphics and photo mode I play Driveclub (it's way beyond any other racing game in this department), but for actual racing I play Project CARS.

Still DC is only 30fps. I know everybody says it is OK at 30, but I haven’t gotten a chance to try it. Hacking the fps in half will improve visuals in other racing games, but I would rather the smoothness.

BTW I like AC graphics the most from all the current sims. It is just so clean.

Which is why it's slated for an indeterminate 2016 release. They still have time for applying fixes through community input.

Yeah, I like the sharp and clean look of PCARS, but I find the tracks bland looking, probably cos' I've been spoiled by the likes of F5.

I suppose on the PS4 it looks good, but I wasn't really that impressed with the X1 version. It does not look like a current-gen console title.

The upcoming patch will improve a number of things, along with an alleged 4-7% performance gain, though I doubt they'll be able to get rid of the pop up and wierd filters and shadows you see around the track's edges in replays.

Good game, but graphically.. mehh.

DC is locked to 30fps, if unlocked it would run higher fps most of the time, and it should be noted that the X1 version of pCARS drops below 30fps in heavy weather or when lots of stuff is happening on screen. PCARS rarely sits at 60fps on console, so 30 isn't half of what it runs on average. When ever something is happening on screen it's often in the high 40s in ps4 and mid to low 40s on X1.

Ah, that's probably annoying. I've mostly been hot lapping or doing single races in clear weather conditions. Will do a stress test to better determine the breaking point.

Even with a single car on track during replays, you'll see the game occasionally having trouble keeping the 60 fps consistent, screen tearing etc.

Eagerly awaiting the patch. Though I don't really see PCARS holding my attention for too long. I wish they'd also update the car roster and include more road car-inspired race cars and road-going cars as well.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, I was just making the point that it's not it's graphics it'll be famous for, and that people saying dc is 30fps and pc is 60fps is a bit misleading, as one is locked to a lower fps to prevent noticable slowdown, and the other strives for 60fps but doesn't achieve it reliably on console, which is very noticable when playing.

I'm also eager for the patch, it sounds like it'll address quite a lot in one go. They have pretty big DLC plans too, so I don't think content will be lacking. It's a game that will continue to evolve.

*Edit. Back on topic; I would definitely buy AC if it came out for PS4. I currently have Driveclub, Project CARS, and The Crew, which are all very different to one another, and all really good racing games in their own right (cars for sim racing and career, dc for visual perfection [+photomode] and fun point to point blasts, and the crew for cruising it's stupidly big open world, mission based gameplay story, and diversity). I would love to add AC to that list, and I believe it would coexist with the other 3 in perfect harmony lol.

Misleading? Just because the game can't hold up 60 fps in all gaming instances doesn't mean it ain't 60 fps; it still is very much. You might notice occasional frame drops in COD, but then again, it is a 60 fps game.

Do you think AC will find its way to the X1? Doubt it.. PS4 is probably the only console adept enough to handle all those complex physics calculations. Or I could be wrong..don't know. Isn't AC a PC exclusive?
