Since kid I watched f1. Recently (well for some time now actually) I´ve started to grow bored with it. It not just the domination of the ferraris it´s just you don´t see a single take over (apart from the ones who are losing laps :irked: ). It´s... boring.

And then... one day (the other day actually) I found it: I was watching motors tv and caught a bttc race... facking amazing; in a bloody lap I´ve seen more overtaking then in an entire f1 season. Two civics in front but the attention was for 3rd place, two mgs (zt?) and two astras and a couple more dishing it out a bit back. There was bumping there was sliding, locked brakes, in a word action. It wasn´t even live, I had never even seen this competition before but that single race was enough to forget all about f1.

hmmmmmmmm you've only just discovered touring cars!? The BTCC is ok but try watching Aussie V8's or the DTM (both are shown on Motors TV, DTM live!) nothing better than big heavy rear wheel drive V8's (without traction control) thundering around!

The BTCC is in the middle of a comeback after the super touring era when teams were spending millians easch season! It's run on new low cost rules and Vauxhall have dominated since it was relaunched in 2001. However Honda have stepped up this year but i feel MG may be gone after this season due to lack of funding!
You can see all the BTCC races live on Motors TV as well as it's entire support packagewhich includes the Clio Cup (more often it more exciting than the tourers!), Porsche Supercup, Formula Renault and Formula Ford!

The Civics are Type R's and the MG's are based on the ZS but are called the EX261. The Vauxhall is the Astra Coupe and there's also 2 Peugeot 307's and 2 Proton Impians. At the back of the tourers there's the Production class which includes near road spec cars.

The next BTCC is meeting is at Croft on July 12-13th.

I´ve seen aussie V8s (the one with holdens right?), it´s cool but that bttc race was just wild, I also reckon those kind of races don´t happen everyday, even the commentators were crazy! Did you see that crazy hard braking corner-counter corner ,after the two really fast ones, were they just ran straight over the apex doing a LOT of off-road? Amazing stuff!

Just a minute ago finished watching a pro-car? race. I had already caught that part before but it was too good not to watch again. Great variety- monaros, diablos, 360s, 996s, Z3s in group 2 (van??)!! In the last lap there was a battle betwen a diablo and a 360, the diablo lost it in the last!!!! lap and the comment of the team manager was something like: "if just for parody they were to compare the teams the monaros the ferraris and the lamborghini they would realize the drivers make a difference." .. ..... ouch

Wait wait what´s this? Pro-car, evos, bmws, imprezas, commodore, rx7s
Gotta go!

PS what´s this parody thing? Organization?

BTCC races are very good, but they are often better in the highlights formula because it brings out the excitement a bit more.

I'm really glad to see it back on-form now though, it went through a poor patch, but now it's back. Can't wait to see how the new regulations including the ETCC cars will work out.

procar is an australian racing series where a variety of races are held. there are the nations cup which is the ferraris, monaros, lamboghinis, porsche, evo etc. there are also australian F3, Brutes series (which is ute racing), gtp (which is evos, wrx, mazdas) and the australian production car championship (which is basically production car available here in aust and are raced).

it is a great series, i see them every year at queensland raceway and gold coast indy and they are fantastic to watch, espically the F3 and nations cup.

Yeah, tin tops (touring cars) have always really been close racers. I went to Goodwood last year to see historic touring cars and even they were really close and thrashing the pants off them. I think the Aussie's are on to a great idea with the Pro Car series. I wish had cable :( !
