Convert midi to MP3/WAVE vice versa

I heard some people wanted to know how to convert midi files to mp3 or wav, so Ill tell you how I do it. You have to record a wav file from your sound cards midi synth when you are playing a midi file.

I use winamp to play a midi, and Creative recorder to record the midi file that is playing to a wav file.

With this wav I can re-record it with sound FX (EAX or DFX) to make it sound realistic (I have a SB live soundcard).

Next I convert to mp3, and I can listen to it on my jukebox2.

Why convert to MIDI? the sound quality is so much poorer... why not keep it in the original format?

if you convert to midi, you can get a midi editor to display it in sheet music
