Wait, did i get a 15 second penalty for NOT submitting incident report?? I'm confused..... whats the deal with that? Never knew it was mandatory.... :(
Also the incident between me and heidi across the start/finish i would of been fine with if there were no penalties handed out, gave me a good laugh!!

I understand there might have been some confusion with it, but yes, submitting an incident report is mandatory after every round. But at least this will give you an idea of what to expect, while it doesn't affect the finishing positions. With all the penalties handed out, there was actually no change of position from the order that each car crossed the line, so in effect the penalties were a bit pointless this week, but that might be a different story in the future if penalties need to be handed out :)

The incident on the start/finish line didn't have any penalties handed out, but we like to review all incidents and give an explanation on why we reached that decision as stewards, so that everyone involved knows that incidents were looked into :)

Not as big a turn out as it was for the last round but regardless I'm keen as to get back on track with you boys! Certainly am not ready but, have had zero practice and probably will get minimal time before the race, never had the GTR at Cape Ring before so should be interesting lol. Hoping I'm on pace so I can continue great battles with @LITTLEBLACKO and @amcdo122 and maybe some of you faster guys ;).

And hopefully we can all finish!

Just letting everyone know that there will be a practice room tomorrow night for Round 4 at Motegi. Room will be opened at the normal race night time so I encourage everyone who can make it to pop in and run some laps before next week.

When will the race video for round 2 be up?

Just did 5 cheeky practise laps then and first thoughts on Motegi after the last 2 rounds:
OH MY GOD THERE IS ACTUALLY MORE THAN 4 METERS OF TRACK TO USE

At the best it appears that we will be posting the videos without commentary. Memto has unfortunately left CORE and the decision has been made to focus on providing the competitors with the best possible product in terms of racing, before we focus on doing the video coverage.

Also, before I do the drivers briefing I want to know, who is keen to run Motegi as a night race?

We have the option to choose from the full 24 hour cycle at Motegi and it's the only track that has this option. If I get a positive response it will go ahead, if not we will stick with a day time race.

Wow, shame about memto :(
How about race 1 is sort of held at sunset, race 2 held in the dark?

It appears that way, as we don't have Tokyo coverage up either...

Wow, this was a big part of CORE and what made racing so much more fun. I guess somethings do happen, like they did it free and we loved it and thank them. But, i do wonder COREs future now without it.

See how I go with moving my parents house, hopefully I can join in tonight :).

Wouldn't mind a night race at Motegi, had my fair share of practice in the Japan 12H so could be fun. Also saddened to hear about memto, he's provided a great show so far for CORE but these things happen, I'm sure you guys will find a suitable replacement :).

Audi R8 LMS Ultra (Team Phoenix) '12 (2/3 Cars) Going to give this series ago.

Won't let me change number with the Audi?

I'll put you down as a reserve in the Audi. The series is 'full' but we haven't had anything near a full room so far, so you should definitely get to race each week.

Unfortunately you can't change the numbers on the Audi.

Here is the drivers briefing for round 4 of the series, fortunately for everyone there isn't too much to cover, but please make sure you read all the details as they are important.

Rolling Starts

This week we will be starting the race on the pit straight for the west course. All cars will be formed up in double file entering the turn 10 hairpin and the leader will then be able to accelerate any time between reaching the starting grid and the timing line, where the race will starts.

A reminder to everyone to keep a 2-3 car length gap when running single file on the warm up lap to help prevent any potential incidents.

Pit Entry/Exit Lines

There are no pit entry/pit exit lines. However I do suggest that you try to keep on the pit lane side of the race track as much as possible when entering and exiting the pits.

Incident Reports

From now onwards there will be a change in the incident reports. The incident reports will no longer be compulsory to complete after each race. If you are involved with an incident that you want to have looked at then I do ask that you send in an incident report or send me a pm detailing the incident, including the lap it happened on and full details of what happened in the incident, otherwise I will assume that there is nothing to look into. I will still be checking replays for the pit entry/exits where applicable. The idea of doing this is to try and bring a bit of fun back into the racing experience instead of draining ourselves typing out incident reports every round.

Stewards Report

Race 1

Lap 28 - Littleblacko / Matvex001 - Avoidable Contact
Verdict - 90 Second Penalty ( Littleblacko)
Matvex spins on the last and then safely rejoins the track, staying to one side of the track as he gets back to speed. Littleblack then runs into the back of matvex half way down the straight. We felt that this incident was definitely avoidable as Matvex was holding his line and Littleblacko had sufficient time to negotiate Matvex without collision.

Race 2

Lap 1 - amcdo122 / brad_kirtland - Racing Incident
Verdict - NFA
While it can be argued that brad_kirtland might have misjudged the braking distances when racing in close proximity. amcdo also changed his line midway through braking for the corner leaving brad with nowhere to go, meaning it was a racing incident. While this is down as a racing incident, we do suggest that more care be taking when running in close proximity to other cars.

Lap 16 - amcdo122 / Littleblacko - Avoidable Contact
Verdict - 90 Second Penalty (amcdo122)
amcdo misjudged his braking into turn 1, running into the back of Littleblacko and causing damage to his car.

and just to tidy up the attendance sheet again after Pubs got left out...
