I could of swarn that I the new vette out for a test drive and getting cleaned. It was a week before christmas, I think that it was some kind of dealer demo or a prototype or something. I was really unsure until today, now I'm 100% sure that's what I saw.

I agree with you, Matt. I had the perfect opportunity to get a C5 last summer before deciding with the G35 Coupe. But, there's just something about their character and styling that I didn't much care for. But now...wow...this is just an incredible looking car, in my opinion. Here's a lot more new, professional press photos of the new C6, along with a novel's worth of information...

Nice choice on the G35, by the way, Jordan. I love that car, even if it doesn't have an updated RB26DETT in it. I just wish they would have kept the drivetrain out of the new Skyline's predecessors. It's pretty stout as a V6 though.

oh no... it IS the final design. as much as the engineering and all-around package has gottne better, the design just plain sucks. bye bye vette. you will be missed.

I know it's none of my buisness but you had enough money for a C5 Corvette!? WOW!?

And my dad said if you look only at the headlights they look like the honda civic's headlights......... I'm gonna miss the hidden headlights. That was an essential part of the corvette...:(

Well, if you think about it White Charisma, he bought a G35, which I think is a little more expensive than a Corvette, not sure though. Check it out at Infiti's website.

Well, I'll eat my foot now.
Just checked it out and a base Z06 is about $52,000.
A base G35 is about $30,000.

It was a huge surprise to me, no doubt. I might have to look into buying an Infiniti, they are pretty nice for so cheap.

Well what are you expecting when you compare the base model Infiniti to the top of the line Corvette?

A stock Corvette starts at $44,535. A G35 Coupe starts at $31,550, but goes all the way up to nearly $40,000 fully loaded.

Lets see... so Dodge copied the Vette when they were thinking about designing the next gen Viper. Now, Chevy said, "ok fine will copy the Viper then..." See what happens when you share notes people?? No one wins and you all fail tests at the same time. :irked:

Nick:rolleyes:

I love the C6. The front end looks twent times better without the annoying popup headlights.

I seriously hope you're joking.

The SRT-10 is slow unless you're comparing it to a Honda Odyssey, or something extremely slow like that. I bet it will be as fast, or maybe slightly faster than, an '04 Lightning(which is also not really fast). A base 400hp C6 will bend an SRT-10 over backwards, and rape it.

The only way it could lose is if you're having a hay hauling contest.

Whatever it's merits, the thing looks like a Vette-ized FTO. I'm sure it's a good car, and I'm ok with exposed headlights, though I'm one of the few who seem to think that some cars look better with pop ups. But the design is wrong for the Vette.

OK so maybe my statement was a bit of an exageration!

Well its all a matter of opinion, some people that didnt like the corvette before now like this design, some people that did like it before now don't like it. It just shows that in the auto industry, you never really do win, cause it is impossible to please everyone. Does it matter what any of us have to say about it? I doubt GM is sending people to this forum to see what we are saying. They are going to look at the sales, if they go up, then they succeed. But the only thing everyone agrees is that the quality is continuing to improve. If you ask me, thats the most important thing, change the things that were bad. I would be willing to bet that this is going to be one of the best selling and most respected Corvette's to date. After all, 400hp, better quality and better ride and handling than a viper, for just over half the price of a Viper. And the Z06 model isnt even out yet.
