If you do the RM and have done the engine mods it puts the engine back to standard and you have to fork out on them again.

Wrong, you can reinstall the ones you already purchased.

In fact, you HAVE to, as they'll already be "equipped", just not installed.

I am not sure if the engine upgrades stay intact when you RM. I now have 2 ZR1's because when you race mod it you get a notification that asks if you are sure you want to proceed because any previous upgrades are lost. So I had already spent a bunch of money on 1 and I wanted a race modded ZR1... so I bought a new one to work with from scratch. After all is said and done... IT RIPS!!! 900 hp... looks awesome, and sticks to the road like glue! Love It! Oh yeah, to answer one of the posts, the race mod is available at the service and maintenance option and costs $385,000

Wait, did you say 900hp? Mine it's 837Hp / 1100Kg, can't tune anymore.. why?

Yeah...it's like 898 or 902... something like that. I don't think I did anything too different. RM'd, fully loaded with all upgrades, oil changed and raced for about 20 races. Not sure of the mileage because I am not at home right now. I also heard that an engine overhaul adds another 30hp but it won't let you do it until it needs it.

Holy crap.

Z06's race mod is 264,500 if memory serves and it's not really any slower than a ZR-1. And the inevitable engine rebuild is only 79k versus what is likely twice that for the ZR-1.

I have both a Z06 RM and ZR1 RM. They are similar in top speed and acceleration but the ZR1 destroys the Z06 in the corners. I can complete a lap at Indy about 6 seconds faster in my ZR1.

That doesn't make sense, they're basically the same car, and if anything in real life the Z06 should be faster in corners, as it was a GT1 car until the stupid ACO gutted that class to make them all GT2's. They kept slowing them down, taking 'wing' off the cars, increasing weight. Look at the fastest lap times for a GT1 car and you'll see they were tremendously quick. Almost on par with LMP2's.

i was poor so i decided to do the z06. zr1 i think was almost 100k more, just spent that on an acr viper

the z06 lm performs great
