As with Photomode competitions, I'm wondering if anyone's interested in a series of course maker competitions. These would take longer for entry, perhaps one a month, and feature things like limits on track, track length, variation, track width, or suitability for a particular car or set of cars, or any other variables the host fancies.

They would then be narrowed to something like 5 which everyone voting can test out, with a specific car if needs be, and judge the tracks to give a winner, and eventually an overall collection of 'Winning Tracks' that could be perhaps be broadcast out to a list for people on or new to GTP to use, having been 'voted for'. Thoughts?

Would be an interesting competition, but I see two problems:

1) Only people on your friendslist have access to your tracks and that would make it difficult to compare and judge tracks. If I'm not wrong the number of friends you can have is limited.

2) You can put only one track at once on the server.

It has been suggested before, but it didn't take. Rather than sharing circuits, I'd suggest making a YouTube video of it. I'll put it to the other moderators and see what they think.

These are things we really need to start being vocal about. I don't know if it's a problem on Polyphony's end or on Sony's, but our limited ability to share anything is just a sick joke. We can't even share more than eight friggin' pictures at once, can't share replays at all, can only share one track, and can only share with our friend list, and all of this is sub-par today.

I really want to see something more like FM3's Storefront. I never got bored with daily checking out new additions, and there was always plenty of content to go back for. If GT5 had something like FM3's Storefront, we wouldn't be sharing a track with a handful of friends, but with millions of people. Why on Earth can't we do this already?

Sounds fun. I do agree that a youtube video is the easiest, but a video lacks some of the fine points that make a track great. Like a curving braking zone at the end of a straight. It's easy to watch a video of that, but quite challenging to drive it. Or an apex on the crest of a hill. Again, easy to watch, but really challenging to keep the rear in line as the suspension unloads right when you need lateral grip the most. Or a high speed sweeper that you just MIGHT be able to take full throttle if you get it right.

My thought is that every person who submits a track has to drive each of the submitted tracks and rank it. Say there's 10 tracks. Every person has to rank them in order. Somebody else may have a better way to do it...

I have a new one I made this weekend that (in my opinion) is the best I've done so far. And yes it does have all of the things I mentioned above. I will make a video of it soon, but for now anybody who wants to try it I have it shared.

The track is called Cold Springs. psid HaylRayzor

If there was something like storefront then I think the Track Comp would Kick off bigtime. Everyone who wants to vote could DL the track without freind restrictions.

Let's hope the february upgrade will give us some more possibilities on the course maker
(point to point, reverse the track, more than one track on-line, or even a storefront)
