Has there been any confirmation that you will be able to "drop the top" on convertible cars in GT4? We have only seen the 350z roadster in prologue and the cobra in that promo vid with the top down. I just hope these aren't the only two cars which will have this feature.

Well, I think that if they show cars with the top down, we can expect that all convertible cars can have the top down during a race.

From KY's description, all convertibles will now be top-down when driving. There's an interview with him on the latest OPM disc (the one with the MGS3 demo) where he mentions convertibles specifically.

It would be cool if you could select top down or top up, or even put a removable hard top on cars that feature them in real life.

There was a video with the SRT-10 Viper in it. I think its top was down.

McLaren, I know the video you are refeering to and the top was up. I was looking specifically to see if the top would be down and it was not.

Rather than being stuck with the roof up or down only when racing, I think it should definately be optional. Wouldn't it be cool if they were able to faithfully animate the folding of the roofs for use in the 'car select' section.

I remember that in NFS: Porsche unleashed.

pretty nifty.

In PGR2, all convertibles (or roadsters) race with tops down (or off), unless it's raining, then the tops are up.

Yeah, that would be really cool, but PD would have to take into account the number of cars that have that feature... if there are too much of them (doubt it, but it can happen..) then it would be really difficult, I think...

All 2 of em per race!!! CORRR ;)

I believe that this limitation has been worked out for the final release... altho I don't know where this was confirmed.

I hope it has anyway!

More proof that the Dreamcast was way ahead of it's time. As well as having online capabilities and a camera available etc. etc. you could also race with the top down in MSR.

well, I saw several videos (some from prologue) with convertible cars with the top up. I always wondered why they only show the Fairlady Z or the Cobra w/ the top down...

It will be pretty disapointing if there's only a full hand of convertibles w/ the top down feature.

99% of the time people race or do track days with convertables with the roof up, cars are much more aero-dynamic this way - why would you want to potentially make your cars slower?

Kinigitt, here is a link to the SRT10 vid (3rd one down Ruf R?). This was posted in the GT4 vid section:

I know these vids are of a poor quality, but i'm sure the vid that starts off at 'The Ring' and ends at 'Yosamite' has a E30 BMW M3, a Lotus Carlton and an Audi Quattro, are these cars confirmed already? - like i said, these are low quality vids, so i could be wrong

Not sure about pics but they're on the list that Sony/PD gave out at TGS so in other words they're confirmed.
