Wasn't i part of the team "CRAP International" for this event (Bentley/Monza) @Spooky Wooky ?
 
One strange thing i noticed was when i used the ghost from 30th place, i could actually beat it by about 0.5 seconds............ And other people i know have commented that when in front of a ghost at the start of a straight, and after getting a better exit from the previous corner/chicane, the ghost would still catch up and then pass them before the next chicane like the ghost had less downforce than the stock setup has.....I smell something fishy.......

It could be a few things. The ghosts were possibly using a different gear, got better throttle control coming out of the corner or were using a different set of Driving Aids. Traction control can slow the car from getting maximum power/acceleration due to the Traction control keeping things safe. This might be especially true on default setup where the the level of Traction control is default so very forgiving but not maximising acceleration.

Yes Mark that's possible, i saw it myself with the ghost i beat, i was faster out of the corners but i could see it would gradually catch me in the rear view mirror down the straight, and it wasn't for me using TC, as i never use it, and i was shifting in time too. A strange one that, and the 30th place ghost wasn't from the guy in 30th as i beat it lol. A shame i didn't record the lap with the "slow ghost" to put up here for you all to see.

Is fuel weight somehow coming into play where people are enabling fuel use and emptying the tank?

@matty234 @Zakspeed_TV. I know you're alien anyway but how did you set your game for the time trial. tyre wear on or off? fuel usage on/off or even x7?, aids setup, aero, radiator, brakes etc

My fuel was always on 5.0 ltrs, like in TT mode.

I meant in the tune in case some parts of default setup aren't working? Just because it says 5.0 litres might not mean it is actually using it. If you have a full tank in the tune (as an example) and the game is actually using that figure by mistake in some circumstances then you could get that slowdown.

Ok Mark i see. But surely that makes these events unfair if the "default" setup is different from what it should be? :lol: Project CARS is like a crazy, but beautiful woman, no matter how much CRAP she gives you, you still come back for more lol!!

Well there's nothing proving any of that. It's all just my supposition. I'm just looking for possible reasons. The other reason could be that aliens are aliens. You could bring it up on the competition thread on the official forum.

There's no funny business going guys, it doesn't matter how you change the settings the challenges are fixed for all.
 
I'm getting a wheel sometime this week..... Well from my older brother. He bought a wheel like 3 months ago and used it like twice. He's not into racing games like that. Idk why he bought it in the first place but he said he will give me the wheel sometime this week. It's not the best of wheels but it's still pretty good. Gonna have to practice a lot.

Saturday Is Beard Day

I will be hosting a Project Cars marathon session this Saturday.

Starting at approximately 4pm Saturday 30 April

It will be a Project Cars marathon extravaganza.

All timings British Summer Time (BST)
4pm Various Sprint races to be announced
7pm Varied lobby/break for food
8pm Endurance race (90 minute race) details to follow
10pm Boy Racer event
11:58pm - 2 Minutes To Midnight - Formula Gulf @ multiple tracks at midnight. Tracks will be at least partly lit

Timings approximate. More info coming soon.

Book your spaces now. Let me know roughly what time you'll be around.

A few changes are happening with CRAP.

We have a new moderator team. It exists to try and share the responsibility of running the group and making sure it is fair for all of us. These are the people who are kindly helping me.

Thanks to them all for agreeing to help. Pay attention to us (and this GTPlanet thread). They are helping out for the benefit of all of us. It is important to stress that ALL members are still encouraged to host their own racing events and announce it on GTPlanet and on the Chat group in advance.

General chat needs to happen through GTPlanet and not the new PSN chat group "CRAP pCARS Moderated". The new group chat is only to be used for general race planning, organisation while racing and requests for invites. That means informing others of plans, invite requests, brief communication during and after a race.

There have been one or two arguments develop on the PSN Chat group which would simply not be allowed on GTPlanet and would have resulted in an instant ban. The same rules will be applied to comments made through the new Chat group or on GTPlanet.

Adding PSN accounts is only to be done by myself and the rest of the moderator team. New members will be added to the group once they have been approved by the team. That approval will involve racing with the group for a while first.

If you have something to say to say about racing incidents with someone then send it to the relevant people NOT our chat group. Alternatively sort it out over microphone. Whatever happened make it polite. If you can't be polite then CRAP isn't for you. Any disputes send to one or all of the team with supporting (ideally unlisted/private) video, if available.

Voice chat in CRAP involves all sorts of people with differing standards of what is acceptable. We need to make our races a welcoming, non-aggresive experience for everyone. Keep the expletives off our voice chat (I do understand they pop out now again). If you have to let rip then turn your mic off for a bit ;)

We want all members to continue to race with this group but only by ensuring that they follow what is outlined above.

Respect both on and off the track needs to be the most important part of being in this (slightly) casual race group. It allows everyone to enjoy the racing and even the social interaction (shock horror). If you don't value that then CRAP really isn't for you.

It will depend on if my mate is coming to stay after he finishes work. If he is then I'll be showing him the game in single player. I'll know tonight for sure. The rest of the family is away for the weekend as him and I are going to one of the following on Sunday.

British Classic Sports Car race meeting @ Silverstone National

British GT Championship, GT3 & GT4, GT5, Formula 3, Super 7's, VW Golfs, @ Rockingham.

What would you choose?
