Much to how Little big planet (series) has all of the prior games DLC compatible with the new releases but all of the new games have its own exclusive DLC.
For example little big planet ones DLC ALL woks with little big planet two , but Little big planet two DLC does not work for one .
This would actually mean we were to have seven new locations if all the cars and tracks were set out this way . IF you already bought the DLC it is read and recognize by six and available to you ( yes the DLC for GT5 is just an unlock code the theoretically the content could be on the disk ) If not you could go and buy it =D , and GT6 DLC would only work with GT6 not five ! Just my two cents!

They are almost certainly just going to include all of the DLC as regular content, creative math about the "new" content GT6 has or not.

This^

The fact that Kaz said all cars from GT5 are coming to GT6 makes me think he means including what was in all the DLC's.

Well I guess were getting three new tracks.👎 and that feeling that we just bought the DLC and now well were screwed .

We know more of 3 new tracks for GT6.

- Silverstone
- Brands-Hatch
- Mount Panorama
- Willow Springs

Mark my words, no circuit, no car appeared as paid DLC for GT5 will be in the initial release of GT6.

And yes, the DLC should be compatible between versions.

I believe the same thing to , it only makes sense..
considering we know about silverstone and anallucia.. we have one track left to be known.. please..

I believe the cars we got as DLC for GT5 were cars designed for GT6 and given to us to use in 5 as a little taste of what is to come

Either PD makes all the GT5 DLC standard content for GT6 or they sell it as DLC for GT6 with cross compatibility. It's, of course, a possibility that SCE decides to go money hungry and make us pay again for virtually the same content, but if they do so the outrage will be tremendous.

Personally, there's no chance in hell I'm paying again for the DLC content I have.

I wonder if the DLC touring cars are going to be considered as separate cars in GT6, especially as they're basically RM cars, anyway. They would take up a sizeable amount of the new car count if they are.

I'm pretty sure GT5 dlc will be GT6 dlc available at launch. However if you paid for it in GT5 then it's works in GT6. The numbers still work.

That will mean 7 locations new to GT6, which is just enough for my hat to wobble. Only my opinion though.

Go look how forza does it (not horizon, just the motorsport series). All cars that were dlc for previous editions of the game were included as default in the next version.

I can't understand why it would be done any other way, it would just be stupid and create enormous backlash like it did when horizon started having cars that were from forza 4 as dlc cars.

Thank you, some sense. It's odd that there are so few new courses if this is the case (as it should be!) but I still hope they don't make old DLC content remain DLC. That's just a good reason to hate DLC. DLC should be a way to get content that will be in the next game early. If you buy it just before the next game comes out, too bad, you should have looked into that.

Why would it make sense?

If the DLC remains DLC it would be ridiculous. The tracks still wouldn't be in A-Spec, most people won't have them online and features like the test track that was in all four previous games will still be a premium add on. Terrible idea.

I mean, it makes sense, if the tracks (etc.) isn't already in the game.

I should've added that in the first place .

It does of course since the only other option in that case would be not having them at all but I still stand by my point that anything other than inclusion on the disc for everyone would be a ridiculous move.

Considering over 1 million people downloaded the first DLC in two weeks at an average price of $4.25 I'm pretty sure they made enough money to cover costs of all DLC in that one go.

Keeping it as premium content in GT6 would just be, again, ridiculous.

We know that PD has modeled Willow Springs, but is there any confirmation as yet that they're planning to include it in the game?

I think the DLC stuff from GT5 logically should be included in GT6 as regular content with the exception of the DLC TCs which imo should become RM options for those existing cars in the game rather than a separate car to purchase and thus not count in the overall car count.

Someone mentioned Forza and yes they do typically include the DLC cars in the next version but they also in many cases have a different level of performance than they did as DLC for whatever reason.

For example the F50GT as DLC was king of the hill and dominated almost every track in the game but as regular content it was just another car and not dominate at all. The Mosler was also a king of the hill car that saw its level of performance greatly reduced when added as regular content. The 962C Porsche as regular content in Forza 3 was nothing special in the speed department but handled very well but in FM4 as DLC it suddenly is capable of 270 MPH.. Forza also has a tendency to take a few cars that were regular cars or DLC cars in the previous versions and make them into unicorn cars which can only be gotten via a gift from T10.

I already have the GT5 DLC so if it remains as GT5 DLC that just happens to work with GT6 that would not bother me but I would think it will be included as regular content in GT6. The whole reason for the DLC was that the content was not ready yet when the game was released.

The tracks still wouldn't be in A-Spec

I wonder if new DLC content can now be added to A-Spec as they mentioned the system being more flexible than before, a bit like the Seasonals but now more integrated with extra events being added into the existing A-Spec game structure/menu (maybe even replacing the 'free for all' Seasonals as an extra incentive to buy DLC ).

I too expect all GT5 DLC content to be in GT6 as regular content, especially with Premium cars and tracks being so time consuming to produce (they no doubt want to include as many as possible) and them planning to release more DLC content on a regular basis, nevermind that it's the most logical and expected step.

with the exception of the DLC TCs which imo should become RM options for those existing cars in the game rather than a separate car to purchase and thus not count in the overall car count.

Or just make all RM versions separate TC version instead (couldn't care less whether they're called TC or RM) you can instantly buy from the dealership, and make them all slightly more powerful than the roadversions like the TC cars.
Unless you really enjoy going into GT-Auto.

What will probably happen is anything that is DLC for GT5 will be in GT6, but only if you paid for it, or have the DLC installed. So the Edge Special will be in it, but you can only use it if you have downloaded it. Kind of like how Rock Band stuff was forward compatible. And I bet Like RB3 anything for GT6 won't be backwards compatible.

I disagree that that's the most likely scenario (although we don't know yet, this being the first GT with DLC), it would be more logical to expect all GT5 DLC content being simply included as regular content from the start for everyone.

Which would be ok as well but I do like the RM option and even though going to GTAuto is kind of a hassle I do kind of like seeing the car transformed from street to TC when it rolls out of the garage.

I think that is unlikely but we will not know for sure until the game is released or someone officially states what the case will be

In theory you could have both I guess, whereby you can go into GT Auto to effectively replace a roadcar you already own with an RM/TC version (just like it is currently) but having them 'premade' in the dealership as separate versions would be my preference (if only for the reason it becomes instantly clear which cars have this option or not).
I do hope for a more significant performance difference (as in more power) like the TC cars offer though, so there's more distinction between them and the roadversions.

No... Just... No...

I'll take Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Horizon as an example...

In Forza Horizon, Turn 10 and Playground games used the models from the DLC cars in Forza 4 to make them free in Forza Horizon (like the Ford SVT Raptor). The fans, obviously, shouted out - YEEEEAAAAH!!!!! -... Anyways. Then, when Playground announced free cars in Forza 4 as paid DLC in Forza Horizon (like the R390 GT1 Road Car) , everybody thought it was a scam... Making cross-compatible DLC makes cars that were from earlier versions of the game be paid...

Beyond that, it's not a good way of introducing a new generation to Gran Turismo... Fans that will buy the PS4 (Kaz said that the door was open) and GT6 will feel a little bit scammed...

Not exactly a good comparison to be honest. Horizon was something totally different. While still sharing the same brand, it was impossible to think that every single car would come over to Horizon, with all the other things that where included in it. I didnt like that they rehashed cars for horizon, but the cars the brought over where the most missed cars. This is where listening to the community can cause a problem, some will be happy, some will be upset. I was one of the upset ones.

If anything Fm3 compared to FM4 would suit the situation better. IIRC, The FM series only adds cars as DLC that where never in the series, and DLC cars tend to be in the next game. *

*Porsche excluded.

In addition, cars had to be reworked so that they could be used with Horizon's lighting engine, which included dynamic time change. Headlights also had to be made functional, along with lighting for the interiors.

The cars in Motorsport didn't have any of that originally.
