CSL Elite(compatibility mode PS4) turns so hard it hurts

Hello,
I have my CSL Elite(compatibility mode PS4) settings:
firmware v335 (which is included in the driver v293)
  • Sen Auto
  • FF 70
  • SHO 100
  • ABS Off
  • Dri -05
  • For 100
  • SPr 70
  • Dpr 100
  • BRF 50
  • FEI 50
And every time I turn past 3 or 9 o'clock, the wheel jerks so hard, I feel pains I haven't felt in a long time (I almost want to marry this thing!). How do I stop it from suddenly jerking?

lower your FEI setting, this may take some of the jerking out. Are you reaching the software limits in regards to travel? Maybe try increasing the travel.
Take the Sen setting off of Auto and experiment with different values.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

"Travel" as in how far I can turn the wheel? I'm not sure. And I don't think that this can be calibrated in Gran Turismo Sport.

I use FF 60 FEI 40 DRI -3 with GT Sport and I find it pretty smooth. I’ve never encountered any particular jerking though except some slight jerking at center. The way you describe your issue, it sounds like a defect.

Also, I checked my settings and I differ from you in Spr, which I have at 100. I also have ABS at 100 but that should only affect the pedals if you have the CS Pedals.

Mine did the same in PCars 2 at one point. Wheel would just suddenly spin so fast it felt like it could break my fingers..

My guess is it had something to go with changing modes while already in the game. Try rebooting everything and if that's not helping reflash the firmware. And change wheel mode or profiles only when in the menus before starting any game.

Yeah, I need to mess with the brF, cause I do have the CS pedals and feel nothing.

Noted.

Got this from the Inside Sim Racing forums and it works great. I feel everything, but maybe a bit too realistic, as it feels like I'm driving my Camry (probably not the level of comfort you'd feel in a minimalist racing machine):

Are you CSL Elite users having the horrible oscillation when the car is in a straight line or at a complete stop? Ive messed with combination of settings for days and the only way I can get rid of the oscillation is to turn the FF strength to very low - which is unacceptable. Please let me know what setting you guys use in game and on the wheel.

I've played around with the settings and I've yet to encounter anything I would describe as "hard jerking" - only some very slight jerking at center. This I believe is due to the G29 emulation in GT Sport - the G29 has a natural deadzone and the Fanatec doesn't. They need to add in a deadzone setting like on my old 911 GT3 wheel. But as I said, that jerking is very slight - more an occasional, minor nuisance than anything that will affect my driving experience. Fei seems like the most likely culprit to me, but I've played with that and whilst it definitely is less smooth at 100 than 0, I still didn't get anything more than mild jerkiness. I settled on 40 for it.

Are you using the clamp or are you hard mounted? And also, is this only happening in GT Sport or any other games? What car are you using?

Also, I've listed my settings for GT Sport below. I'd recommend trying the exact same setup and seeing if you still get it. The same wheel in the same game with the same settings should equal the same experience, so if not then it seems to me that you have a defective product and should contact Fanatec support for a replacement. Also for the sake of keeping as much the same as possible, some of the cars I've used are the BMW M6 Gr3 (the one I tested this most extensively on), Ferrari 458 Gr3 and Gr4, Corvette Gr4 and N500, Mustang N400 and Toyota FT1 VGT Gr3. Maybe try one of those cars.

Here are the settings I've settled on:
Sen: Aut
FF: 080
Sho: 100
ABS: 100
Dri: -05
For: 100
Spr: 100
Dpr: 100
Fei: 040

I just realized that GT Sport DOES have force feedback adjustments! But you can only access them from the driving options menu once you're loaded into a track, for some ridiculous reason. I dunno if you guys knew about this, but I sure didn't. Anyway maybe changing GT Sport's FF torque or sensitivity will solve your issues. Personally, since discovering this, I now run with torque at 9 and sensitivity at 1 and the wheel's FF setting at 100.
