CSR Settings

One thing I was not happy with in GT5 was the FFB on my CSR. I know the wheel is not completely supported. I am not looking for perfection and not looking to make it feel like Forza but if I can get my CSR wheel to feel like my old DFGT then I will be happy. Has anyone played GT6 or the Academy version with a CSR wheel? What are your settings? Preferably with settings that include 900 degrees of rotation.

Wheel Sen. OFF (I have not noticed a real diifference between 900/off, recommended is off.)
FF 90-100% (756 firmware with ACL)
Sho 90-100% (normally 100% in GT6)
ABS 65% or OFF
All other settings off or 0
ingame ffb 6
ingame power assisted steering off
ingame wheel G25/G27

^ is what I use with CSR Wheel and select the G25 or G27 in game. I just refuse to drive X201X with it. I break out the DFGT. I will update with in game ffb setting! I think that I left ffb in game at 5 or 6. I Just don't like cranking up the ffb too much on these wheels after my G25 went out, but I did rewire the pedals to work with the DFGT.

Oh thanks. This looks great. And by everything else at 0 do you mean the spring and damper settings?

Can't wait to try these settings.

.

I have CSW, but it is the similar principle and I support what GTsimms said.
Everything has to be on OFF: sensitivity, drift, spring, damper. Use FFB, Shock and ABS setting as you like, but everything else is better on OFF.

Also notice it is highly advised to have FFB on the wheel on 100 and adjust actual FFB strength via in-game FFB option (adjusting FFB on the wheel cut-off some FFB input from the device (PS3), while FFB setting in-game actually reduces FFB but does not cut-off any input signals).

Yes, spring and damper 0. I forgot to mention not just the X201X, but also the Forumla GT's, and F2007/F2010.

spring and dampers at 0 is not good, it distorted the ffb output that come from game itself.

i have csr elite and use this setup -->

game:
ingame ffb strenght = 8

wheel:

sen = off

ff = 50

sho = 0

dri = off

abs = off

lin = 20

dea = 0

spr = off

dmp = off

acl = off

FF at 50 is not good, Should be 100 and if you want less FFB then adjust it down in game rather than on wheel, FFB will feel better if it is at 100 on wheel.

I also use a CSR Elite

FF 100
SEN OFF
Sho 50
dri Off
ABS 70
lin 0
dea 0 but varies need to have a little on some cars to avoid the straight line wiggle
spr off
dmp off
acl off

I just want to echo this. The way the FFB setting on Fanatec wheels works is it clips the force feedback signal if you turn it down. Keep FFB at 100 on the wheel and then adjust force feedback strength in your games until it feels right. The only time you should adjust the wheel's FFB setting below 100 is if the force feedback feels good overall but the strongest effects feel excessive. Then you can turn the wheel's FFB setting down until the strongest effects are clipped to a reduced level.

You can see this illustrated in Test 2.2 of this CSR Elite benchmark: http://f-wheel.com/reviews/csr-elite-wheel-benchmarked

yes, i hear this too and also reading all that stuff. tested days and weeks to find a good setup. but after all, i have best driving experience with a lower wheel ff str. :)

ncbF430, I just did a test of the wheel and updated the settings above, since I have not moved ffb from 90 on the wheel after I updated the firmware from the stock 706 or 716. I would not recommend going less than 90%, It seems to have the effect on the wheel as some codemasters PC games, which has cut a lot or all ffb from their games even moving from 100%. HBR-Roadhog, what kind of deadzone adjustments are you making just 10-20?

GTsimms, I used to play gt5 with a dead zone of 10-20. Is there a firmware I should use? I think I have 756 or whatever the latest is.

It sounds like the consensus is to have ffb on wheel at 100 and adjust it in game.

I'm liking your settings so far. I have the elite pedals. Where do you have the load cell setting at? Brakes seem a bit touchy for me. I had them at 7 for forza.

Also do you use the power steering option in the game settings?

I have the standard CSR pedals with no load cell :(. I will have to upgrade one day. I haven't used the power steering option, I keep it off.

I don't know why but 900 degrees or off setting is not working for me. I have the same setup with 144 driver and 756 firware. The only setting that works is the 240... Can some one explain me why the 900 offer me enough turning angle??

Set it to OFF and not to 900.
