Yeh...

I used to use it when i used DS3 to drift, but then when I moved to a wheel, i developed a style that didn't require the handbrake.

But now, after a week or so of handbrake use, I'm getting used to why /how to use it.

Early initiations, that require you to extend the drift, just to make the corner (first corner in this video is a perfect example. Initiated too early, but saved it with the hand brake.)

But then there are the intentional big early handbrake initiations. I tend to feint hard, then counter as you would usually, but grab the handbrake and steer into the corner (after countering to keep the front wheels pointing in the direction of travel), but the trick is to make sure you get the revs up, and be in the right gear to catch the slide on the throttle, once of you come off the handbrake.

I get a nice entry, but straighten up mid corner in this one. I tried to catch it in 2nd to make it easier to get the wheels spinning easier, but I didn't grab 3rd in time to keep the angle.

Its just a case of practice mate 👍

I did it here at the 1:04 mark but I let go to early and the car went backwards a little lol

Awesome drifting guys thanks:) getting the hang of it love its like D1

Great idea :D im going to make a version 1.01 Saturday maybe lol with actual rubber band lol :Pbut @FussyFez derserve the credit:)
I saw it somewhere (possibly here but in the gt5 or sim hardware section) and never forgot about it.

Finally twigged to actually make one the other day.

The elastic band really helps to pull the stick back to a neutral position. It can help to set 'forward' on that stick to 'none' in the button configuration menu.

But with the elastic, my hinge needed some hefty reinforcement to resist being pulled forward.

It takes some tweaking, but mine has a lovely feel to it now.
