Enjoyed hot lapping race A a bit, and had 1 good race there, but then had a couple nasty ones. Fighting for the win with a known dirty driver for ugly. He got a clean pass inside for the lead in turn 1 so I had no problem with that. Then he proceeded to late swerve block if I got a run at him, or the three times I got alongside he just pushed me wide. As I knew it was likely coming I was always ready for it and kept myself composed. Last lap we get to the corkscrew and he royally screws up the turn leading up to it so I actually get a run past him on the outside. And the inevitable happens as he slams into me pushing me into the gravel. I get a 1.5 for hitting the wall but am determined to deal with this.

So I just drive hard those last corners, and as he screws up the last right hander I decide to simply punt him last corner. I get a well earned penalty and he calls me dirty as usual.

The oddest thing is he starts bragging about all his wins, saying he is obviously a much better driver and I am simply jealous. This from a guy with what was a 50pct win rate before the penalty system was removed.

The next race the same thing happens between this guy and another driver, but dirty boy gets a penalty for his punt this time that would prevent him from winning. So he waits and puts the punted driver off track on the last right, and then punts him clear to the wall at the final turn.

Not exactly proud of my actions, but feel like policing things this way is going to be the way forward from now. Just feel ugly how people get a night's racing ruined by a troll like this.

Here is the charts of Mr. "I have 100 times the wins as you so I can drive how I want." Why cant we get rid of these drivers.

I know what you mean.
Last week a Russian tried to barge past me in the esses. I managed to stay alongside, I had the inside to the last long right before Dunlop. He squeezes too much and the contact unsettles the car at the moment I begin to accelerate and I spin off. I call him out after the race. He proceeds to message me afterwards. He was very arrogant and obviously ignorant of racing conduct. I tried to complement him as he was a quick driver, but also help him understand how his actions negatively effected another driver. His response, 'I started 17th and finished 4th, you started 7th and finished 12th, why should I listen to you?' Perhaps if I was hit off I wouldn't have finished that low. I was actually on for a top 5 that race. I looked at his stats and he had only been driving a week. I even mentioned this and perhaps he should listen to advice of someone who has been racing on the game longer, but nope. He just continued to be childish so I gave up. If anyone can direct me to the list where we enter names of the 'public enemies' then it would be appreciated.

I've been on Sharefactory again !

These are my favourite overtakes from since I last went on there, almost all daily races from the past few months plus a couple of lobby events:

No wonder you use a controller, you can't fit those balls under a wheel.
My favourite was around the outside at the final corner of Maggiore. Then I saw you did a similar move but went full 90° sideways last night at the ring.
Impressive stuff.

Exactly. These people just thinks that "being good" justifies everything. And my guess is, they had been only driving a week because possibly their old account has been banned. Well, at least I am holding out and hope that is the case so I can continue to naively believe the report system works at all.

PD really need segregate the people with high SR and those with high SR for a long time because SR is so easy to get these days. Or be more punitive on SR on collision penalties. I was so frustrated one race where I just bumped a guy who was forcing me off constantly out at turn 1. I got a penalty, well deserved. I should have had my SR dropped to A for that alone, my SR didn't even go red in the race results. I was blatantly anti-social there and really didn't receive any penalty except for 3 seconds; I was going last anyway at that point because of that dude so what did that matter?

Yeah I was running the RS01, I tried the GTR which was fast but I felt too rigid for trying to battle from the back. The RS01 was a handful though, found anything more than 4-5 laps on mediums was really risky. Sucks on straights but it’s single lap pace and race pace are great, plus you can place it anywhere you want.

Those were some fun races, few random dirty guys but mostly great racing. Such a difficult track to pass, especially when some will barely leave you a inch lol. Mostly I would look at the lineup at room start “hmmm maybe top 10.... top 5 if lucky” the rooms were pretty stacked this week which was great.

What’s your PSN?
TwoSlow4Pole

I tried the RS01, I have over 8000 miles driven in it but just couldn't get on with at Suzuka for some reason so took the mazda for some rotary aural loveliness.

As I’m a sucker for punishment I’ve had a few runs at Monza today.

Last week at Suzuka was dreadful and I was well off the pace even after I had been Narnia’d. I had also been slow in the Tokyo FIA but Monza is a track I do well at. Jumped in the Jag and ran some fp laps. I know I can do mid 57s in the Jag and low 57s in the Veyron so the leaderboard gave me some hope that once I found a groove I would be competitive.

At the end of my first session my best lap had been a 58.8??? It had felt good and I wasn’t at all sure why it would have been over a second off my usual pace. So I jumped in to watch a replay and see where I was getting it wrong, and that’s when I saw it. Running down the back straight towards Ascari, throttle wide open and my ABS light is blinking. The brake is engaged maybe 5-10%. I rest my foot on the brake, but it hasn’t caused me any trouble in the past. So I jump back in the car and do a test lap and sure enough, with foot all the way off the pedal I’m getting occasional braking when full throttle.

A quick Google suggests that one of the causes of this kind of thing with G29 pedals is pet hair getting inside the housing. We have a golden Labrador and 2 cats, so it’s a distinct possibility.

So this morning I take it apart, clean out a small but significant amount of dog hair and put my pedals back together. Jump in the Veyron and immediately the brake problem is gone and I post a 57.0. Good enough for pole and 2nd in my 2 races.
P2 and p3 finishes.

So, for over a week I’ve been thinking I’ve lost my mojo, when actually I was driving around with the brakes on :banghead:.

Did two races at Monza last night, both where clean apart from one guy passing me twice with side to side lean in T1 and another guy accidentally tapping me in the brake zone to T1. Both times I stayed on track and the latter I even kept my position.
I both races I started p8 with a 58:3 and finished p3.

86 ain't META, but it's MEGA! ;) Don't be scared to race what you want.

Just latch on to a Veyron(it finished 13th) all race and be prepared to overtake it in the braking and cornering toward the last few laps. Be patient.

I had a nice overtake around the outside of the parabolica. Veyron was too much on the gas and tapped me(not in anger). I got loose and it backed off to let me recover. 👍
Just follow them and let them either clear the way to cars ahead or just to build a gap to cars behind.

After a horrible bounce around night last night at Laguna Seca tonight was 2 fantastic races. First race I got right on the leaders tail but could not find a good way around. Got alongside many times but could not complete a pass. Ended up p2 by 0.184.

Next race I got a big lead but squandered it a bit. Last lap p2 for a run out of the corkscrew. We went down the hill side by side, I gave in to get a run out of the final corner and they got a big wiggle for a drag race to the line. I nipped them for a win by 0.13.

2 great races and a total split between p1 and p2 both races still less than 0.2. Good races are out there.

Saw you were in the 86 and thought “that’s brave”. Kudos for a great drive.

The alien in pole, who is frighteningly quick, brought a Cayman to a Veyron fight. It didn’t go well and he DNF’d on lap 2 or 3 after dropping to midfield.

For me this was my 3rd really clean and respectful race in a row at Monza. P2 and I cooperated early to clear the field and then raced clean to almost the end before he picked up a penalty at Ascari on lap 9 when he looked up the inside but had to pull out and didn’t get through clean with a compromised line.

Enjoying Monza this week.

I have started to use different cars that I seldom use in races this week and starting from the back as I don't really care about DR the way the system is now even though I could drive like an idiot and barge my way through and move up. It's fun driving new cars and learning how different they can be on a track and it's defiantly improving my driving overall.

Jumped in the Mustang. Must be the week for close finishes. Beat an RCZ by .007s. Moved up from 14th to 8th, behind a Vantage. So many Veyrons behind, after they started ahead. They seem to not like the last few laps.

Respectful racing so far.

If you mind your tyres the Veyron is fine but spend too much time off the track and they fall away at the end, problem is worse on other cars I tried, RCZ is a nightmare if you visit the gravel if you don't wait until tyres are clean, couldn't keep it straight at all for a full lap, only used it once.

Too many drivers brake late for T1 and Parabolica and it shreds the front left. If you’re smooth with those two the Veyron has no trouble with tyres. I’ve noticed the FFs are really dropping pace late.

Moved up from 18th to 10th at Monza yesterday in the Jaguar - finished as the first non-Veyron! Those in front of me didn't seem to be struggling with their tyres at all, in fact the driver who won ran a fastest lap 3 seconds faster than mine, so he certainly wasn't protecting his tyres.

I have seen some people pitting, but it doesn't appear to be a very wise strategy - they've all finished last.

Tried Race C, 2 races. Veyron fest, did not have time to try another car, will give the shaguar a lash tonight. Veyron needs patience, early braking that's for sure.

Racing was good, one guy pushed me off at Parabolica and that cost me 5 spots but other than that, everyone else seemed clean. Had an absolute ding dong battle for a win against a south american and we both played fair.

The race is weird though, lose the draft and you're in a world of hurt, basically impossible to recover.

Totally OT, I am negotiating on a 997.2 today, may well take the plunge.

Last lap from my 1 race today.

Started/finished 2nd. Lots of contact the whole way. I was lucky, bounces went my way today.

[

Usual thoughts from me on this race: would be hella fun if only clean guys were in the lobby, in low-A DR rooms. A little contact in a 4-lap sprint is to be expected, but the guys that simply go all-out to punt you turn after turn, ruin it too many times. The moments that are legit hand-to-hand combat in these fun cars are a blast, though.

One advantage of the last SR changes is that DR matchmaking is tighter. I see less DRC/D with super fast Q times. Which stops the risk of losing a lot of DR should a mistake happen or whatnot.

Races have become lower reward/risk. Over time as this sinks in I think drivers looking for higher rewards will get bored and races will clean up.

Yesterday evening I entered the B race twice in my freshly painted Mustang.
I began without qualifying or practice and still managed to pick up spots in each race when cars were off or failed to defend properly.
The Mustang seemed strong in race with these tires relative to the other cars. It’s got great brakes good stability and hard drive out of the corner as well as good low speed handling. It’s a bit dicey turn 3 but outside that pretty dominant.
I ran some qual on the main and managed a 30.5 but left a couple tenths out there. I shared my lap search tpc.
I think people go very wrong in their approach to Interlagos when they choose slower handling cars.
Those cars can only be used at the top of the best rooms but for your average race a stability car, planted and assertive on the inside just works better.
The Mustang is really nice to drive here. Other cars might be better over one lap but easy to drive has something to be said for it.
I think any advantages it has are negated though if you turn tcs off.
At least they are for me. It hits 162 on the front straight into t1 at tcs3, so it’s not that slow. Horses for courses, I know no one else likes tcs3, but I do. I was running low mid 31 in race though and the faster guys can hit a second or so quicker in their Genesis etc in race.

Re clean driving I’m not planning for it or expecting it. You can bump barge and rub, but not punt. You can push, move the others but not just Hail Mary punt them off like a lunatic, that will get ya pens.
It’s hard simcade racing on b. Really, right now in GTS it’s every man for himself. If you expect clean you’re playing the wrong game imo.
It’s a different kind of fun, gloves off stickin the noses in throwing a little hip check maybe a little revenge shove or swipe.
Don’t expect contact free anytime soon in this game and you can have fun, just adjust your expectations to the pen system.
Mustang!

Been racing in Interlagos this week, with the Lexus RC F, for me the fastest car there. But the problem is that it is very fast in the curvy bits, buts it's absolutely useless there if I'm mid pack because everyone jams up, I lose time, and get absolutely killed on the straits. So, need another car :)
