Awesome, used to really like their stuff. All this talk of homebrewing is getting me interested in starting again. Missed having a few cases of the food stuff hiding around the house. Haven't been able to pull that with young kids, but about there now.
Good stuff. Fire up that mash tun lad! Of course you kiwis also have the added adventure open to you of turning beer into whisky legally
We brew a Pilsner, too. It’s one of my favorite beers to drink. As @Invisigoth suggested, we like Czech malts and Saaz hops for that one.
It's what got me brewing beer. I first got into homebrew for cider, I hated beer. All the Australian beers at the time were nasty, bitter concoctions full of Cascade and Pride of Ringwood. I don't like bitter. Then one day I ventured into a home brew shop for some equipment, and the guy handed me a Continental Pilsner (fake, because it was really an ale), and I went "Hmm, I can drink this.." , then I fell down the rabbit hole
