If gt5 is going to have damage then it should have a safety or pace car, flags and driving behind the safety car.

I always thought that safety car is a big part of racing and gt never had a safety car because the races never had damage and crashes but in case of damage it should have a safety or pace car.I would love to see the pace car from gt4

You could include safety car in that thread. No need for new one.

Ahh the old safety car...

Blasting past the LMP1/Group C's car at La Sarthe and attempting to keep them behind you...

He may have a point, there is hardly any safety car discussion in that thread.

It's funny how the original poster is asking opinions about safety car, and everyone else is arguing why he made a new thread for that.

Regarding the original question, yes, it would be great to have a SC. Like a modded SLR :)

there is a point. What role will the safety car play? Why would we have one if we don't have a huge session where debris is cleared up?, Will there be detatchable parts that need to be cleared up? What happens if you run into these parts?

I don't think there will be a safety car - but more because having a safety car means having to put so many other features in the game than just a car with some flashing lights.

Well, there was a safety car in GT4, for a couple of the license tests, so if I were to guess, they will become more prominent in GT5 or future iterations of Gran Turismo, depending on how far and how realistic PD decides to take damage. I think it would be cool to have a safety car in Gran Turismo 5 in actual races, provided it is implemented in a manner that makes sense within the limits of the damage simulation and events.

I suspect that standard and professional physics will become further differentiated through levels of damage/simulation, though I found it odd that the most realistic mode in GT5:P was "Professional," as opposed to "Simulation." I personally hope those two modes are kept, with a third mode, the hypothetical "Simulation" mode of physics/gameplay, in which the damage model is added and each event becomes more like its real counterpart, complete with flags and safety/pace cars.

We have threads on the safety car already, particularly this one. You could use that one to discuss this subject further.

We don't need numerous threads on the same subjects.
