Hi guys, new here. Been playing GT5 for a couple months now. Anyway, I have been using an original PS3(the fat one) and after a few hours it quits putting out video (hdmi) after it cools down it will work properly. I am scared that it'll crap itself and I'll lose everything I've worked for.. So, I got a brand new PS3 cech-4001 and I'm wanting to transfer the data from fat boy to this one. I've read the instructions on how to do it but was wondering if anyone here has done it before. How long does it take (I realize that's relative) Did your GT5 data transfer properly(no missing cars, tracks etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated

If I recall correctly (it was a while back) I just stuck the save file onto a USB and exported it to the new PS3. I think it all went OK.

Not a lot. I transferred a few games at once, and the USB was 1GB.

That's just the saved game files. I'll still have to run the game data stuff that happens the first time you put the disc in right?

If you have a reasonable sized external hard drive then make sure it's on Fat-32 and back up the entire system to it. Then put it on the new system and it'll be just like the old one.

If you transfer ALL your data (all your downloads & different game saves) it could take a while. It took 8+ hours to transfer my data, but that included 4 different accounts and all my games' saves. :grumpy:

The Fat ps3's are rubbish arent they. I went through 3 of them

Cant believe these things were almost 800 bucks when they came out

And sold for 3 times that amount on ebay.

It's silly that I even have one. I manage a pawnshop so I see literally 10-20 newish ones daily. I think I'll just thumb drive my gt5 data to the 4001 and go with that. Hell, that's all I'm playing now anyway.
