Data Transfer

As I recall, you could copy your licenses from GT1 to GT2, so you didn't have to earn them again.

In GT4 especially, it would probably end up more a hinderance than a help. The licenses aren't just there for kicks, they're there to teach you the game and how to drive the cars. Since GT4 has a completely new physics engine, I wouldn't want to bypass a thing, so I can figure out how to drive. Just driving a Prius around Fuji, it's easy to tell there's been a complete overhaul, it handles nothing like any car from GT3. So if you were to bypass all the learning steps, it'd take you that much longer to figure out how to actually drive a car.

it would be nice if i can have my whole garage full of cars tranferred into GT4

but GT4P save can be transfered into GT4 retail because u have already done quite a bit of license test.

...yeah would be very COOL!!!!.......but i don´t think so!:<
....cuz u have to win all the cars u had in GT3, GTC and PROLOGUE or it just would be a game which is already played up to 40% or 50%(with that 300/400 cars and 20/30 tracks!!)
...so nice idea but could u do it by GT1 to GT2 either?--NO
...could u do it from GT2 to GT3???--NO
...so what does it say?...N-O data transfer guys!!

Transfering licenses from GT3 to GT4 wouldnt be sensible.
The game physics is such a huge advancement over 3, that you really will need to re-learn everything.
Being good at GT3 will count for Very little in GT4. :)

👍 yeah RIGHT man!....that´s perhaps THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT why u just can´t transfe the datas!!!;>
....GT4 is nearly a complete "new" or at least "different" game than GT3(and that on the same hardware-->the PS2!!!)the physics(car biting when u countersteer too much :scared: )the graphics(well what can i say-->just A-W-E-S-O-M-E! )and many other things.....

so GT4 a very "new" game?--in some cases YES but NOT in everything!!!

...that´s right but not the cars from prologue i think!!!...just imagine u started GT4 and u have a Mc Laren F1 GTR!!!...YEAH(but senseless and unrealisic!)!!!
..but u can ransfer the license tests(about 48)into GT4!!!

Can you give us a link that states this, because all I have seen is that Prologue will give players a 'head start' when GT4 comes out.

As far as I am aware nothing specific has been disclosed and the 'head start' could just be familiarity with a physics engine that is closer to GT4 than GT3 and experience on the new tracks.

Don't get me wrong, it could be that the licence tests can be transfered, but I have not seen anything that clearly states that.

it is the license test being transfer

Prologue was pretty much allowing new players to learn GT4 before its released
1 year is more then enough to learn the new engine inside out!

But still i wish the US had the chance to play it without importing it which would be more then the normal amount we play for games.

Having completed the 50 odd tests in GT4P, I would really like to be able to transfer my licenses over to GT4 so I can get into the racing straight away. I sure hope this is the case, but it probably will not be :grumpy: :grumpy:

I have such a hard time believing that. If you've mastered the fundamental principles of racing in GT3 (or any other racing game) GT4 can't possibly be that difficult.

Well, I think that the atraction of a game like GT is to pass it from the beggining to the end. I you pass the previous data to GT4 you are finishing the game before starting to play.
For sure, I prefer to begin with a powerless car and start winning prizes and new cars with new races.
